Army Warrant Ofc. Casadona Memorial
US Army Warrant Officer Jimmy Casadona was tragically killed last weekend in a helicopter crash while training at Ft. Campbell Kentucky. Jimmy attended the New Hampton Prep School in NH, where he graduated in 2008. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 2012, and served as a radio reconnaissance operator, finishing his enlistment as a Sergeant. Jimmy studied flight science and aeronautical science, and in 2017 Joined the US Army to pursue his passion for aviation. Jimmy graduated flight school in February of 2018, and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division as an Apache helicopter pilot. On Friday night, April 6th, he and another pilot were killed when their Apache helicopter crashed. Jimmy has friends and family throughout NH, MA, New Jersey and Florida. We are trying to raise some funds to assist his family with travel expenses relating to his funeral, memorials, and allow all of his family to be there for all of it. Please donate if you can, so that we can properly honor his memory, service, and sacrifice. Jimmy always put his service to others above himself in life, and I hope we can find a way to honor him, and provide his family with the support they need in this difficult time. Thank you all.+ Read More
Jimmy's obituary with funeral arrangements are posted below.
Thank you all for your incredible generosity. It's truly amazing to me how much support this has received. Every one of your donations is such a help, no matter the amount. The thoughtfulness , the kind messages of support for the family, and amazing generosity has been overwhelming. The family is beginning to use the funds we have raised, to assist with funeral services, family travel arrangements for the services and related memorials in Jimmy's memory. I'm keeping this campaign going until after he is laid to rest at the end of next week. Any funds above what is needed in the immediate future for services etc. will be put to good use in honoring his memory and service. We are looking into some options for a permanent memorial in Jimmy's name, as well as other ways to carry on his commitment to serving. Thank you again for all of your support. It's truly humbling to see such an amazing amount of caring and generosity in a difficult time like this.
Just a quick update... I have added Jimmy's sister, Lauren (Casadona) Dean, to this campaign. She will be handling the funds on behalf of the family.
We're almost to our goal! I learned the hard way through this process that the military death benefit afforded to the family is shockingly small. This is the reason for the increase in my goal. We want to ensure that the family is able to give Jimmy the proper services, memorial, and honors he deserves. We also want to make sure his family has the financial ability to attend all of it, as they are spread throughout New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida. With services in Kentucky last week at Fort Campbell, and the upcoming funeral in NJ, the family's resources are spread thin. As a Marine Corps veteran, I participated in over a hundred honor guards, funeral details, and saw first hand how important it was for the family for their loved one to be properly honored for their service. Thank you all for helping me ensure that the Casadona family is able to have that same support and honors in this difficult time. Please help me share this just a little more so we can reach our goal.
