Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife
Working with animals almost 40 years in one way or another, not many of us get to live our life long dream and become a Zoologist from the University of Florida and get launched into a career at all professional levels ranging from over 350 different species of animals. Beginning in Zoo education and ending up a senior keeper in the Animal Nursery at a career at Busch Gardens Florida. I have worked with almost anything animal you can think of including Marine Mammals that was my specialty out of college.
But life changes and a high risk pregnancy changed my life path when a little 4lb baby came four weeks early..my daughter Rachel. So I walked away for twelve years to raise my two girls and be a full time mother. Then a an opportunity to once again work with animals by becoming a rescue and rehab specialist with Florida Fish and Game and so the last year of rehabilitation began.
The need I have learned is great and I have constantly been busy with so many incredible success stories. Devoting a large amount of hours to such an incredible cause has literally changed my life and my children for the best as they receive a first hand experience to not only watching their mother do what she was born to do but watch the wonders of nature up close and personal.
Many of the animals I have dealt with has been accidents due to domestic pet attacks, problems with highways or car, mothers orphaning their babies, poisoning and the list goes on. Working with a several vets that also due it Pro Bono, I am pleased to put in the time, effort and yes money it takes to get an animal back to freedom of nature. So many have contributed over the last year to help, for in my eyes everyone of them is God's creatures and deserves a chance.
That being said I work also for the Fish and Game completely free, and is considered to be a non-for-profit, each animal raised with love, compassion and skill that I have acquired over the years. Thank you for considering a donation and the time you took to check out my site!

Want to join me in supporting a good cause on #GivingTuesday? I'm raising money for Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife below.
Owl’s Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife is a non-profit organization working to protect and conserve native Florida wildlife while inspiring others to care and appreciate it.
I can't thank you enough for all the texts, emails and calls concerned not only for my family but for all the animals in the care of Owls Nest. I thank God that the Spring rush ended before this huge storm and we have the lower number of patients. That being said, all is good with all the babies and criticals that are here...many of the incredible staff volunteers helped me pull in cages in two areas that are concrete block strong. Many supplies have been dropped off by incredible people and the last thing to do is to install the doors and then tarp my 14 foot flight cage that hold my 5 older spotted skunks for a change. They are so important to us! Our vets that help us are on standby with help!
If you notice, you will see less wildlife out already, birds normally wading or fishing are gone. Seagulls etc are gone from beaches, this is the miracle of what has happened for centuries, animals know what to do! So the many calls for all of sudden Gopher Tortoises on doorsteps and songbirds gathered under bushes! Leave them be! They all know what to do, but WE are open for calls. We have had many today...but only and IF MY VOLUNTEERS CAN HELP SAFELY can we make it happen! The welfare of my friends/family on my over 70 volunteers is primary!
May this storm simply brush by and not impede the cities but rather may it be gentle and protect all the beautiful animals that we all love and protect!
We will need all the donations we can get after this..the rescues will be nuts!
Much Love and Prayers!
