El maestro Miguel Astor, uno de nuestros más insignes compositores y pedagogos, necesita de nuestra ayuda para poder cubrir los gastos de su tratamiento oncológico.
Con una extensa trayectoria artística, investigativa y pedagógica, Miguel Astor es hoy día un baluarte y toda una referencia en el panorama musical venezolano. Ganador del Premio Internacional Amadéus de Composición Coral, Premio a la Investigación Profesoral de la Facultad de Humanidades y Educación de la UCV, entre otros. Pianista, compositor, director coral y musicólogo, es Licenciado en Artes, Magister en Musicología y Doctor en Historia por la Universidad Central de Venezuela, a su vez, es fundador y director artístico de la Cantoría de Caracas.
El maestro Astor, en su incansable labor pedagógica, además de haber formado a numerosas generaciones de músicos, es autor, entre otras publicaciones, de uno de los textos musicales más paradigmáticos y originales de la reciente historia venezolana: Contrapunto para hoy, editado por la Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes, es de lectura obligada para los estudiosos de la música. De la misma manera, sus obras han sido interpretadas por agrupaciones de gran renombre como la Schola Cantorum de Venezuela y la Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional, sus obras forman parte habitual de la programación del Festival Latinoamericano de Música, y su vals Adriana es ya todo un clásico de la literatura pianística venezolana.
Debido a la grave situación de abastecimiento que padece Venezuela, el medicamento que el maestro requiere, como tantos otros, ya no se consigue en el país, por lo que estamos solicitando toda la ayuda posible para hacerle llegar el tratamiento que necesita.
El nombre del medicamento es NEXAVAR (200 mg) y su costo está alrededor de los 2000 EUR (2320 USD). La dosis a suministrar es de 600 mg cada dos días y de la siguiente forma: 400 mg un día, 200 mg el siguiente y se repite. La primera etapa de este tratamiento está prevista desde el mes de julio hasta diciembre y los resultados del mismo determinarán su prolongación, por lo que estaremos muy agradecidos de que nos ayudes a que esta campaña perdure el tiempo que sea necesario hasta lograr su recuperación.

Uso y manejo de los fondos:
El dinero recaudado será íntegramente destinado a cubrir los gastos del tratamiento, el cual puede conseguirse en Colombia. A continuación explicamos más detalladamente:
1.) Una vez alcanzado el monto necesario para comprar una caja del tratamiento, yo, Norman Gómez, procederé a bajar los fondos a mi cuenta en España, para luego transferirlos mediante la empresa Western Union al maestro Miguel Astor, quien viajará a Cúcuta (Colombia) para poder retirarlos y así comprar el medicamento en la Liga Santanderiana Contra el Cáncer.
2.) Debido a la dosis prescrita, el medicamento (en su presentación de 60 comprimidos x 200 mg) debería durar para 40 días, al término de los cuales se reiniciaría el procedimiento de adquisición para asegurar así la continuidad del tratamiento.
3.) El costo de cada caja del medicamento oscila entre los 2000 y 2300 EUR, y se requerirían 5 cajas del mismo para poder cubrir el tiempo estimado del tratamiento (Julio - Diciembre)

Professor Miguel Astor, one of our most distinguished composers and pedagogues, needs our help to cover the costs of his oncological treatment.
With an extensive artistic, investigative and pedagogical career, Miguel Astor is nowadays a reference in the Venezuelan music scene. Winner of the Amadéus International Choral Composition Award, Faculty Research Prize of the Faculty of Humanities and Education of the UCV, among others. Pianist, composer, choral conductor and musicologist, he has a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Master's degree in Musicology and a Ph.D. in History from the Central University of Venezuela, and is the founder and artistic director of the Cantoría de Caracas.
Professor Astor, in his tireless pedagogical work, in addition to having trained numerous generations of musicians, is the author, among other publications, of one of the most paradigmatic and original musical texts of recent Venezuelan history: Contrapunto para hoy, edited by the National Experimental University of Arts, is for reading obligated for music scholars. In the same way, his works have been performed by renowned groups such as the Schola Cantorum of Venezuela and the National Philharmonic Orchestra, his works are a regular part of the Latin American Music Festival, and his waltz Adriana is already a classic of Venezuelan pianistic literature.
Due to the serious supply situation suffered by Venezuela, the medication that the professor Astor requires, like so many others, is no longer available in the country, so we are requesting all possible help to get the treatment he needs.

Once the amount necessary to buy a treatment box has been reached, I, Norman Gómez, will proceed to download the funds to my account in Spain, and then transfer them through the Western Union company to Miguel Astor, who will travel to Cúcuta ( Colombia) to be able to withdraw them and thus buy the medicine in the Santanderian League Against Cancer.
