Syracuse Football Bio

Cordy played 6 years on the Syracuse University football team and has worked through years and years of hardships. His 3rd year, he was out a full season due to an arm injury, then he overcame that and underwent 3 ankle surgeries the following year, leaving him out another full season. Doctors told him he could not play football any more multiple times with everything that was going on with his ankle, but nothing stopped him. 3 separate ankle surgeries later and long months of recovery, he spent day in and day out in the training room to get back on the field. He was granted a medical redshirt for his 5th year, and the NCAA also granted him a 6th year due to his hardships which is rare, and a total blessing. He ended up using his 6th year of eligibility at Syracuse, and helped lead the team to a bowl game in 2018. He was healthy both of those seasons and has been healthy ever since. He says this is the best his body has ever felt!

He is the HARDEST worker you will ever meet, and will spend hours upon hours working out or watching film to better himself. He has always had dreams of playing in the NFL since he was a child, and dreams of supporting his family back in Homestead, Florida. Throughout his time at Syracuse, he was still doing his best to send money back home to feed the kids that live in the house, his nieces and nephews, even though he never had the time to have a job with football. Every time he got money, his priorities were his family before himself, even if it meant he might not eat as much that night. His parents in Florida are supportive in everything that he does, and they look to him as a way out in the future. His mother and father take care of 4 children; his mom works 2 jobs, working over 50 hours each week, and his father currently doesn't have a job. When it comes to finances, money has always been tight for the family, so as much as they want to help him in this process, it's impossible. Right when he finished football season this year, he even tried applying to jobs before he started training for the next level, but he has not heard back and is running out of time.

Cordy didn't have the money to go home to his family for Christmas, so he spent it with us for the 3rd year in a row until he and Leesh drive to Florida on Saturday to visit. The Christmas present that we want to give Cordy is that we want to help him achieve his biggest goal. Cordy has been given the opportunity of a lifetime, and we want to help him get what he has worked so hard for. He has been offered a chance to enroll in a 10 week training program, beginning the second week of January, to help him better his skills for his Pro Day in March; to say the least, him and Leesh are struggling to come up with the money for it. The trainer he is going to be training with knows the financial struggle, and got the price to the best he could do which was very appreciated because many programs that are specific to combine training are much more expensive. He is also going to bring Cordy to ASPI Combine Training Camp down in Tampa, Florida, a couple times throughout the course of the training, another incredible opportunity.

No matter what happens, we want to be able to say we did everything we could to help Cordy reach his goals. He will put in his half, as he will show all of us with his hard work throughout training that it is worth your donations. This money will be going towards his training program which includes personal weight training and speed training, recovery sessions, travel to Tampa, group football skills training, room and board, as well as the nutrition plan he is being put on. Nothing is expected but EVERYTHING is appreciated in advance. Not to mention, he also just finished his Master's program at Syracuse too. The first person in his family with 1 degree, let alone 2, and we could not be prouder. He is a part of our family and always puts smiles on our faces, so we want to give him this gift that he will remember forever!
