Hi Everyone!
My name is Darin Ruark and I want to take a minute to share with you the blessing I received. Over nine years ago I was injured in a car accident. Having spent nearly every day at the beach before I was injured, one of the most devastating results of my injury was that going to the beach was nearly impossible. Well a little over 2 weeks ago I was so blessed in that I got an Action Track Chair. It is a motorized chair that has tracks on each side instead of wheels that allows it to operate on any surface imaginable, the beach, woods, grass, mud and snow, and yesterday, for the first time in nine years I got to feel the freedom of being on the beach and I was finally able to take a walk on the beach with my wife, a moment I never thought possible until we got this chair.
Also yesterday, December 28, 2015, one of my wife and I’s great friends, Anthony Greene, did something for the first time since he was injured 8 years ago, he got to touch the ocean. This may seem so simple to some but to us this means the entire world. For Anthony this means the freedom to go the beach, to go out into the woods, with no limitations.
See for us it is about the little things in life and this is why my wife and I along with our families wanted to start this campaign for Anthony. He is an avid outdoorsmen and this chair will help him access everything outdoors. He is an incredible person with a will, drive and heart bigger than anything imaginable. He is a paraprofessional that works with special needs kids and he continually gives back to the community and now it is our turn to give back to him! He deserves this more than any person I know and your contributions will help make this dream a reality!
I would love to raise the money for this chair by June of 2016 and I cannot thank everyone enough for sharing this and getting the word out there! Whether it is 1 dollar or 1000, we will make this goal happen and help an incredible person get this amazing chair!
