Anna and Abby's Yard will be a place for people to gather and celebrate love and joy which we feel is a perfect way to honor our daughters.  Our girls loved to play outside, climb, swing and be active. Going to the park across the street from our house was a nightly event where we shared lots of laughter, smiles and some really good games of Lava Tag.

To date, we have raised just over $140,000 for this project and we have a ways to go.  Many have held fundraisers, sold lemonade, donated their allowance and done what they can to support our project and we are so grateful for all of these efforts. We are humbled every day by the love and support of many and truly feel this is a community project built out of love and joy!

We are working with the city of Forest Grove, OR to put Anna and Abby's Yard in at Rogers Park.    Once we have the funds in place they can then move forward on renovations to the park which will include Anna and Abby's Yard. The city and the people of our community have been so supportive through this entire process.

Our community of Forest Grove, OR is a place where people take care of one another, people care about their neighbors and it's a place where love and joy is felt daily. We really can't say enough about the place we call home and the people who we call neighbors.

We want to thank Anna and Abby's friends who met early in this process to help us create a vision for what they felt their friends would want. Fairy house, big trees, monkey bars, big slides and lots and lots of places to climb were among the list of must-haves. We also felt it was important to include many universal elements so that all kids could enjoy and play in this space. It's not only about accessibility but about creating a space where kids can interact with one another using their imagination as they move through Anna and Abby's Yard.

You can find  our vision on the Anna and Abby's Yard Facebook page  along with updates.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, and for your support and prayers.  We look forward to the day when we invite you all to come play at Anna and Abby's Yard.
Please contact us if you have any questions. Love and Joy,
The Dieter-Robinson Family

I just wanted to send out an update before I close this page. I am so grateful to everyone who has donated to Anna & Abby's Yard along the way and through our partnership with Harper's Playground, it looks like we will reach our overall goal to build Anna & Abby's Yard.

Press Release that just came out today ~ July 31, 2018
Anna & Abby’s Yard and Harper’s Playground Announce Partnership
By partnering with Harper’s Playground, Anna & Abby’s Yard will now be able to achieve a higher level of inclusive design.

PORTLAND, Ore., July 25, 2018– Harper’s Playground today announced a $500,000 pledge of fundraising support for Anna & Abby’s Yard, a playground project in Forest Grove, Oregon being developed by Anna & Abby’s parents Susan Dieter-Robinson and Tom Robinson along with the City of Forest Grove, OR.

As a result of the partnership, Harper’s Playground will offer inclusive design consultation to the team and help to raise $500,000 to fund the park design and construction, bringing Anna & Abby’s Yard even closer to a reality.

“Harper's Playground is honored to have been invited to join the team of Anna & Abby's family, the City of Forest Grove, and the design team at MIG. We all share the same vision of a space that will honor Anna & Abby while serving everybody through radically inclusive design,” said G Cody QJ Goldberg, Harper’s Playground Executive Director.

“The partnership with Harper’s Playground brings us one big step closer to Anna & Abby’s Yard becoming a reality and for that, we are extremely grateful for this partnership and look forward to working with them,” said Susan Dieter-Robinson, Anna & Abby’s mom.

“The City of Forest Grove has a rich history of providing services in Parks and Recreation to our community, with inclusion being a foundational element at our facilities and programming for over 30 years. We are proud to be in partnership with Harper’s Playground on the Anna & Abby’s Yard project and look forward to a continued positive relationship”, said Tom Gamble, Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Forest Grove.

This weekend Linus and I took a long walk and ended up at Roger's Park, the future home of Anna and Abby's Yard. While there I snapped this photo with tears streaming down my face. My tears were for the family, the stewards of this giant sequoia, and the decision I know was very difficult for them to make. My tears were also for the gratitude I feel towards them ~ they thought of Anna and Abby's Yard and how their tree could live on there for many years to come. My tears were for this tree that has brought so much joy to so many standing tall next to Rogers Park for so many years. My tears were for my girls, I miss them so much.
I then walked up to the giant pile of wood and read the sign posted ~ Anna and Abby's Yard, Construction Spring 2018. It's happening, our dream is becoming a reality and my heart is so full of gratitude for all those who have walked this journey with us, donated time, donated money and helped us along the way. Our dream of creating a place that honors our girls and brings our community love and joy is happening.
I am so grateful <3
