Anita Lemonparty Goes To Washington

Ever since my return to Humboldt County, in 2008, I've been blessed enough to find and become comfortable with my identity as a Gay Man. It has been my honor to spend the past 9 years of my life participating in and fighting for LGBTQ+ Rights, in Humboldt County.

From marching against Proposition 8, to celebrating its demise.
From working with local LGBTQ+ Nonprofits, to learning to bring about positive change Singularly.
From single-handedly organizing a protest of the Defense of Marriage Act, to collaborating with the Eureka Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to create a space for our community to mourn the losses of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre.

It has always, and will always bring joy to my heart, to join in the fight against Tyranny and Oppression.

I am excited to announce that, this June, I intend on participating in the National Pride March in Washington DC; to have the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and apply my 9 years of Local Activism to a National event, fills my heart with apprehension and excitement. Any and all support, in this adventure, is extremely helpful.

In the name of transparency, I do not feel entitled to any form of assistance from our community; I am simply asking for assistance, to lessen the financial strain of making this trip possible.
