We are in crisis.

We are being forced to leave our current shelter.

We need to secure a new premises as soon as possible as time is running out.

Moving forward our long term security will depend on us being able to purchase our own property.
This is why we are desperately appealing to you generosity.
Please dig deep.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

We'll soon be homeless, just like our animals, as time in our current home is nearly up.  This is a crisis for us, can you help? A lot of lives are depending on us as we rescue and re-home several hundred animals every year. Without a suitable premises this will have a dramatic impact on our ability to help as many animals and so we are launching a major fundraising drive to make sure this doesn't happen.
A new premises will be needed in a matter of months and this time we want to buy to ensure the future rescue of many, many animals in need.
Everyone here is a volunteer and we are a non-profit registered charity so every cent raised goes to the animals and none to the humans.  We've been at this work since 1940 so we know what we're doing and want to keep going forever.
We rescue animals from cruelty or abandonment and give them all a fresh start in a loving home.

The Big Plan
We've set our target for the realistic sum needed to either buy or build a fit-for-purpose Animal Shelter.  We know it seems a HUGE amount to ask for but all of us here are determined to give this project 100% effort.  We are also putting out a plea for anyone who might assist us with their unpaid skills eg.  Public Relation, Planners, Builders Carpentry, supplies.

We do all this for the animals and not for ourselves so we thank you in advance on behalf of all those whose lives will either be saved or improved by your generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
all at K.W.W.S.P.C.A.

Hi everyone, I’m Gracie.
I was only a puppy when I was brought by a nice lady to the KWWSPCA Shelter and that means I got rescued. Now, I didn’t know that I needed to be rescued but I’m glad I was because I have a great life. I don’t have to do anything all day except laze around, play and go for walks and I don’t ever have to stay outside if I don’t want to. I get lots of cuddles and treats because Mum says I’m really cute. Sometimes we go to the forest or the seaside and I even got to go on holidays with my family.
Mum works in the Shelter and picked me out as soon as I got there. Mum says lots of the volunteers (that means people who work really hard but don’t get any pay) bring dogs home for keeps or just to mind them for a while.
I have a big sister now called Honey who didn’t really like me at the start because all I wanted to do was play but now I think she likes me because she only gives out to me about 5 times a day instead of about 100. I’m really good at running and I love getting dogs in the park to chase me. None of them can catch me, well, except for my friend, Benito, because he’s a Lurcher.
Sometimes I do some work for the KWWSPCA when they’re collecting money by dressing up in this stupid orange jacket that Sally gives me that says “Rescue Dog” on it and I have to try to look super-cute. It works, everyone loves me! I was even featured on the Christmas Cards this year. Mum brought me to work a few times when there was this little dog there called Tiny who was really scared and wanted to run away. I had to just let Mum pet me while he was watching us so that he wouldn’t be afraid of people. Mum said something terrible happened him before he came to the Shelter. She says I’m too young to know the story but I heard her say the words “box” and “dumped”, whatever that means? Anyway, Tiny got better after a few months and soon he wanted everyone to pet him and then guess what happened? He got adopted too! I didn’t get paid for my work so I suppose I’m a volunteer now.
Mum told me that Grainne & Niall (they work out there too) mind an older Mammy dog called Zelda. One time Zelda came to stay in the Shelter for a few weeks and she minded this dog called Pearl who used to hide in a corner of her kennel when anyone came near her. Now, that’s no good because how are you supposed to play with other dogs or go off for walks with the Volunteers if you’re hiding from them? Anyway, Mum said that Zelda did some kind of magic because Pearl got cured and then she got adopted too. Zelda didn’t get any pay either.
The Shelter is kind of like a Hotel. Some of the dogs are only there on a short-break but some of them are on long-stay vacations. You get half-board (that means 2 meals a day) or full board if you’re really thin. You sometimes have your own room but most times you share. There are swimming pools when the weather is good and heat-lamps at night when it’s cold. I suppose it’s kind of like a Spa. There are Dog-Coats to wear instead of those fancy Hotel Robes and some dogs get private baths and get their hair cut or brushed. We are brought for walks at least twice a day and get play-time in the garden if we’re well-behaved. Some of the dogs do ‘zoomies’ around the garden - it’s usually the lurchers like my friend, Benito. A lot of them come to the Shelter.
Mum said I have to write this for my KWWSPCA work because they have to move to a new shelter soon and need to get lots and lots of money quickly. If you have any money that you can give them they’ll be able to keep doing this rescue work because there are lots and lots more animals that need new homes just like I did. I’m so happy now, please help.
I suppose I won’t get paid for this either but Mum says she’ll give me an extra Chewy Chicken Twist tonight.
Lots of love, Gracie

NEWSFLASH
As some of you may have noticed our campaign page was unavailable for donations for 9 hours today. This was due to the gofundme platform changing the format. Our Page is back up and running now but very disappointingly they were not able to transfer the individual Donors list, comments of support or any of the beautiful photos you sent to us. We really were enjoying them.
If you have time , could you email the photos to me by clicking the envelope icon on right of the campaign page.
Please continue to support and share our campaign as we need to continue helping these animals whom have no one else to help them.
Kind Regards
Yvonne Chairperson K.W.W.S.P.C.A
