----I am beginning this campaign in a moment of helplessness. At this moment, it has been over 24 hours since my best friends father has, once again, disappeared. As I sit here, the city police, friends, and family are searching fot Julius O'Bryants whereabouts. This is not the first time that he has gone missing. But this is the longest he has been away and not been found. This has been a difficult journey that my friend Dorisa, and her sister, Shaunna, have gone through these past few years. After receiving numerous phone calls from police and hospital workers to come pick their father up, they came to the sad realization that their beloved father was not the man who had raised them any longer. Their Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Dorisa and Shaunna were faced with a choice: put their father into a nursing home or take care of their dad themselves. They decided that the best outcome his prognosis had was for him to be surrounded by those who loved him. As it goes with this heartbreaking disease, Julius is always trying to return to the home of his childhood that is no more. He forgets that his present home is very far away from the home he remembers. He forgets that his dear Mother is no longer with us. His two daughters have called the police countless times to help locate Julius, who could usually be found miles and miles away, walking endlessly into the night, forever searching for those found only in some far reaching, unattainable memory. Shaunna has changed the locks on the doors. This has worked. .until last night. It seems that Julius has somehow escaped from his second story bedroom window. So, here we are. The police have had no luck. The local news stations have taken the story and broadcast it across social media. The family are forming volunteer search parties to aide in the search. And I, who has called Dorisa my best friend for 17 years, am sitting at home with my three children, am feeling terrible that I am not doing more to help. My eldest son, who has severe autism, has his routines , which, if deviated from can cause serious meltdowns....and then thats when it occurred to me...Angelsense!!! That's what I purchased to help ease my fears with Hunter....I can always track his whereabouts! It works with my phone, giving me alerts if his scheduled routine is changed and it uses GPS to locate him at all times! This would be perfect for any person with Alzheimer's Disease! This is something I can do. It may not help right now, tonight---- but this would stop this from ever happening again. I do not have the money to buy the system on my own....presently I cannot afford the monthly subscription for my own son. But, I believe there are good people in this world. I believe that people want to help. The monthly rate is $45. My goal is to pay for a year of services. The device itself is $200. This makes the total close to $750. Julius, Dorisa, Shaunna, myself, and all of us who love this family, deeply appreciate any help given. With love, I thank you!
