Angelina is 18 years old from Denville New Jersey, who attends Morris Knolls H.S.. After fighting back so hard to recover from a brain tumor, she has been diognosed with another Brain Tumor..
Back In September after cheering at a High School Football game, she was diagnosed with a massive brain tumor and needed Barin surgery which lasted 8 hours to remove the tumor. These past couple of months after Struggling to recover from surgery and many complications due to the tumor, which left her partially blind, loosing some of her memory, as well as other major compications. Angelina decided to fight back so hard and was determened to keep fighting harder so that she was able to walk onto the football field with her Graduating class this past Tues June 23, 2015 and graduate with High Honors to receive her diploma, only to be Devastated the next day when she found out that she has ANOTHER BRAIN TUMOR. This Tumor is causing her to loose the rest of her site as well as severe fluid on the brain. Angelina has been part of the Morris Knolls Varsity Cheerleading Squad at her high school, also on the Softball team. She performed in the Woman's Choir, and Concert Choir, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society, The National Society of High School Scholars as well as a High Honor student, and is a member of various other clubs. Angelina was recently Accepted to George Mason University, Penn State University, and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her dreams were to go to college in the fall, but that was short lived after receiving this devastating news.
Angelina has been recovering at home the past eights months from Brain Surgery where they removed a massive tumor from her brain resulting in a lot of complications, the biggest ones being Severe Vision loss, her Kidneys not working properly, Short Term Memory Loss and the tumor completely damaged her Pituitary Gland which she now suffers from Hypo- Pituitary-ism. With her fighting spirit, The past two months she had started to go back to school on a modified schedule so that she was able to graduate with her class this past Tuesday, and so she did, with High Honors. The day after Graduation she was devastated to find out that she has another Brain Tumor and that this tumor is destroying her optic nerves causing her to loose what ever vision she has left. She also has a blockage in her brain which has caused the spinal fluid to back up resulting in fluid on the brain (Hydrocephalus). Though the surgery is very dangerous because of where the tumor is, she will also need a shunt and radiation, and to make things worse, The Family was recently notified that Angelina's health insurance was terminated, and Angelina has to go through this struggle with no Health Insurance.
Angelina lives with her Mother and her brother, who is in college. Angelina's mom is unable to work due to a disability for the past two 1/2 years and has no Income, she has to care for Angelina on a full time basis. The family is struggling to pay rent, monthly bills, Dr. Bills, as well as the family's everyday expenses that we all take for granted. Her mother's car, which is their only transportation, is old and just about had it. This Story below is from September 2014...........On Friday night September 12th after the school's rival football game against Morris Hills, she experienced a debilitating and paralyzing headache. Early Saturday morning she was rushed to the Emergency Room. It was soon discovered that Angelina had a Brain Tumor which was pressing against her Optic Nerve as well as damaging her Pituitary Gland, causing her to lose some of her vision. Angelina underwent Brain surgery which lasted seven hours and the Doctors were able to remove most of the tumor. After the Surgery, it was known that Angelina lost 75% of her vision in her left eye, and abour 40% vision in the the right eye . Angelina now suffers from short term memory loss and also mobility loss on her left side and needs a lot of physical therapy as well as vision therapy. Along with the Vision and memory loss, The tumor completely damaged her Pituitary Gland and she now suffers from Hypo- Pituitary-ism. Angelina is suffering from other ailments as well due to the tumor and surgery. Angelina lives with her Mother and her brother, who is in college.
