In November of 2015 Andy was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 38 years old.
Against all odds, Andy has fought and survived this dreaded disease for more than 18 months. He's stared down 38 rounds of chemo, an aborted Whipple operation and an experimental drug treatment that cost more than $5,000 per dose. Every day is a struggle, every day is a new challenge, and yet he perseveres.
Andy’s disease forced him to leave his position at Harvard where he acted as an advisor to the T.H. Chan School of Public Health but he continues to spend his days as de facto counselor and cheerleader for others dealing with the disease and works tirelessly to educate, inspire and inform others.
Anyone that knows Andy, knows that he is a fighter. He has brought this "WARRIOR" attitude to his fight against cancer. One of his primary motivations in his battle with cancer are his kids.
Andy has 2 young children—Fletcher (4) and Marion (2). They currently live in Argentina with their mother. Andy's doctors will not allow him to travel so he cannot leave the country to go visit his kids. Needless to say, every moment Andy spends with Fletcher and Marion is precious. The only way he will get to see them is if they can come to him in Kansas City.
Since his diagnosis over 18 months ago Andy has only seen his kids three times.

We have started this campaign because together we can help bring Fletcher and Marion to see their father’s fight. Let’s help reunite them in Kansas City so they can.
