Andrew's Dental Fund
Andrew has had ongoing problems with one of his fractured teeth, #12, with repeated abcesses that flare up periodically. We're told this will continue and become life threatening if allowed to get worse.
This funding drive is to deal with the cost of Dentistry work, a tooth extraction, without insurance coverage in Florida. Not covered by Medicare. Dentists we have spoken to do not offer financing options for people with little or no credit.
I myself work part time in a Department Store, but hours are sparse, and is only enough for my own food.
I have my own issues to deal with, but this fund is something that's a bit more achievable if I focus efforts to solving it. One thing at a time as it comes.
One would expect to just save up the money, and have some work done when the amount is available.
This is not one of those massive 5 figure funding drives to "fix a smile." These kinds of situations can escalate quickly, I'm just really concerned that an infection will get out of hand, and can start affecting vital organs.
We live on a very tight budget, week to week, month to month Mortgaged situation with utilities, etc. This is what it's like on a Fixed income. The slightest medical emergency, or unexpected house repair, is a setback that could leave one belly dragging for years. I've had my own Art projects too, but when we see someone we care about suffering, our own plans and goals are put aside for something like this.
There are a lot of people suffering from lack of adequate Healthcare. We know this to be a systemic problem. A Funding drive like this, is one of the most immediate, and directly effective way to help anyone.
