Help Me Record "Portrait"

For those who don't know me, my name is Andrew Rudy. I am a 20  year old artistic soul who's dream has always been to create music.

As a preface to why I am seeking outside funding, I would like to say that I absolutley hate asking for help. It is never something I have never wanted to do. I am coming to realise, however, that seeking help is not always a sign of weakness. By allowing myself to be helped by others, I gain new friends, family, supporters, and am able to say I created magic thanks to the people who have helped me.

Far before I ever realized my love of acting, my dream was to be a singer. I have been singing ever since I can remeber and it has always provided such a sweet release for me. My dream of being a professional singer performing on a stage was the very reason I ever stepped in to my first acting class, so I would be more comfortable on the stage. It was in this class that I realized my love for acting, but my love for singing remained inside my soul and continued to light a fire in me.

In all the commotion of acting, auditioning, doing plays, musicals, background roles, and acting classes, it seemed as though music had taken a back seat, even though I continued to sing in my free time, it was becoming more of a hobby and for the longest time I did not know what to do about that.

WELL, in the past year, I went into writing music, which I have not done since middle school. I found inspiration upon seeing the finished results of one of my first photo shoots. Seeing photos of myself in this light completley changed my outlook on the effect that I as an artist can have on people. I could hardly relate to the person in the image because I wanted so badly to be this person who appears as if he is the master of his own domain, someone with cold confidence. This is when I began writing the song "Portrait" which sparked a flow of writing more and more songs and, believe it or not, I have written 2 EPs worth of music and am working on my 3rd! (16 songs in total and a few other songs stand alone)

So now I find myself an artist with toxic levels of ambition to take the first song I wrote, "Portrait",  that started my whole journey and record it professionally in a studio, breath life into it, and release it into the world! 

This is where the funding I am seeking comes in. Upon investigation with studios, producers, etc. I have reached the number I am asking for to help me reach my goal. Who knew recording music was so expensive?! And who knows? Maybe I will find a way to record the rest of the songs for my Portrait EP and show people the full story!

Portrait, in whole, is the story about a boy who's only dream was to do what he loved to do and to be successful at it. We follow him from his pursuits on stage, to rising fame, to discovering how corrupt the industry of his dreams is. We see him living the life of his dreams, but discovering all of the restrictions and limitations that comes with it. The Portrait EP is a story of introspective reflection, finding love, and choosing between a life long dream or happiness, and if they can be one and the same.


What you are fudning is the recording of the title song: Portrait, the story of a boy who finds himself in the midst of rising fame and lets the Portraits of him and the lineage of royalty and stardom before him infuence who he thinks he is.
