I have always held a vast love for trees, gemstones, nature, animals, good people, and exploration.
I currently reside in the State of Oregon, where I discovered my life goal, my one true dream.
I was exploring a grove ancient trees, when I came across the tree in our campaigns profile pictures. One of the largest Douglas Fir trees in America, this ancient sentinel blew my mind. The fact that something so massive truly exists, and is living, and producing oxygen & clean water day in, and day out, tirelessly, made me develop a deep respect for stands of old-growth forests.
After exploring the grove a bit more, I witnessed MASSIVE stumps everywhere, and that's when I began to realize.... Huge trees, just like this one, were axed down 30 or so years ago here, and hauled off for consumption and as "macho" trophies.
It brought me to my knees. How could we as a species take away the life of something older than most generations of humans? WHAT gives us such a brutal right??!
This tree set me on a mission.. To protect the last remaining stands of ancient old-growth forests here in the Pacific Northwest, the rest of the United States, Canada, and around the world! I owe all my respect to these elders, and all they have provided me, and all the terrible things humans have done to their species. Since beginning my mission, I have raised awareness to thousands of people on my Instagram social networking site through my photography of these trees, as well as sharing my passion for growing trees and plants.
Your donation will help plant endangered trees, spread awareness, and give a voice to the forests who have no way to speak for themselves.
