Talented Ukrainian Soprano Anastasiia Golovina, who is currently a student at the top level conservatory Guildhall School of Music and Drama is in danger of dropping of the conservatory due to high fees.

Hello all the lovely people out there, my name is Anastasiia Golovina and I am starting my third year Undergraduate degree at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Originally I am from Eastern Ukraine, a little town called Severodonetsk and I grew up in a big friendly family of musicians.  In my earliest memories I was singing in a warm family circle, later from the age of 5 in small venues across my city, then gradually moving on to professional stages across Ukraine.

At the age of 19 after I finished my degree in Choir Conducting with honours in Ukraine me and my family made the decision for me to go and study in London, to fulfill my dream of becoming an opera singer.

Being a first year undergraduate student at London College of Music I decided to try and audition for Guildhall School of Music and Drama, a top UK and Europe conservatory, but unfortunately it was too late to make any applications. GSMD agreed to make an exception for me and I had my audition 5 months after they closed the deadline, after an hour of which I found out that I had been accepted on the first year. I felt extremely lucky and blessed to be able to continue my studies at such an amazing establishment.
For the last two years of my studies at the GSMD I have been very happy with my life, all the lessons and workshops gave me a high quality set of skills that are necessary in the profession of an opera singer. Already at the GSMD I proved to be a great student and a promising performer. At the end of this academic year I came at the top of my class in the end of year exam, after which I had an opportunity to perform a new opera by Jonathan Dove with London Symphony Orchestra  and Sir Simon Rattle:

There are some of my recordiongs on soundcloud, I hope you will enjoy them:

Rachmaninov - How Fair This Spot

Rimsky-Korsakov - Snow Maiden's aria

Also I sang my first operatic role of Belinda (from Dido and Aeneas, Purcell) on a professional stage with baroque company Ad Parnassum, for which I got this public review: "Notable highlights including the remarkably mellifluous singing of Anastasiia Golovina in the role of Belinda". Of course to reach the international standard of performance that I strive for it is vital to at least complete my degree.

However, my financial situation puts me in danger of not being able to continue my studies. Coming from Ukraine, a country with unstable economics, I didn't have any loan or grant, as they don't exist in my country. For the first year my family was able to support me financially, but unexpected crisis and war in my part of the country put my parents in danger of survival, so they were forced to leave their home, jobs, everything they had and move to a different place. For my second year at Guildhall I had half of my fees covered by the school, which is £10,000, and the rest of the fees I managed to get by selling our home in my hometown. For my next academic year I was granted £11,000 scholarship out of £20,800 for one year's fees. It is an incredable amount of money that me and my family are unable to find. Because of the war conflict my family lost every source of income. We lost our home, and the biggest tragedy was losing my Godfather, who was also my uncle, on the battlefield. I was at once overwhelmed with social and personal distress, my life completely changed, putting in danger the dream of my life to become a world class opera singer.
Life in London is very expensive for someone like me. Even though I have two part time jobs (teaching and stewarding), I still can't mange to pay all my bills, live and study. Any help that anyone can give me is greatly appreciated, whether it be in financial donations, employment opportunities or simply your kind words of encouragement. I appreciate everything that will help me to achieve my dream from the bottom of my heart  and I will repay for your kindness with concert invitations and updates on my progress.  Me and Nicolae Mihaila performing at Milton Court Concert Hall, March 2014

Every person, who helped me to achieve my goal will receive a thank you letter. Being a student at the GSMD I have an access to all the Guildhall School performances and some exclusive world-class concerts at the Barbican centre, so every sponsor, who contributed £100+ will be invited to a preferred performance that you would like to attend.

To anyone, who contributed £200+ in addition to a concert ticket will be sent a personal invitations to all of my solo recitals and concert engagements over the time I'm studying at the GSMD.

For contributing £500+ you will also receive my exclusive recordings and reserved best seats for my performances.

For the most generous sponsors, who contributed £1000+ in addition to all the above I am offering a performance for any of you private/company events or occasions.

After finishing my studies I hope to be able to  raise money for students like me, who are in difficult situations, by organising fundraising concerts and setting up a new fundraising campaign. Music is my passion, my dream, my life and, with your support, my future.
