An Airstream and a Dream
Short Version:
I’m looking for support as I'm raising half of the money I need to purchase a used Airstream and start up Fresher Together Farms. The Airstream is a place that will provide stable affordable on site housing while I continue to build on my farming dreams. It’s a place for me to call home.
Fresher Together is a collaborative food project for healing, economic development, training and retreat. I look forward to sharing more info about this new project very soon including the launch of the website. Fresher Together Farms will focus on mushrooms,culinary and medicinal herbs, and foundational flavorful alliums and other produce items and aromatics (i.e. garlic, shallots, onions, leeks, ginger, etc). This farm plans to be a chance for economic development and skill training and development for those in community that need it most. The farm will not only grow food but develop value added products that also allow an opportunity for culinary and product training in addition to farming. We look forward to drastically minimizing waste by not only offering fresh and dried products, but also drinks, tea blends, sauces, and other items.
As I embark on this journey I’m looking to raise half of the $15,000 I need and earn the other half.

If you know me you know I talk about living in small spaces a lot. Elaborate dreams of transforming shipping containers, building tiny houses on land, and of course airstreams. Silver bullet looking spaceships that make my heart warm.
Ten years ago, in 2008 I lived in the Bay area for work. Because of the outrageous costs of rent I could no longer maintain or justify, I decided to move into a 1971 VW Bus. I made it home, complete with shag carpeting, cozy comforters, solar panels and my bustling childlike enthusiasm. But shortly after my new found freedom and joy of
VW Bus living , my home caught fire on the side of the highway heading to Oakland and everything was destroyed. And while I may have lost everything that I owned that night, I did not lose my passion for owning less and living more.
Whether you know me or not , some important things to know about me are:
Resilience- Pushing my humility aside for a moment, I’m one of the most resilient people I know, and determined to push through to see a vision unfold.
I ride hard for community - Serving and building with my community is just what I do. It’s like breathing. And not only do I want to see community surviving but I want us to thrive and I strive to find spaces and opportunities to make that happen.
Feeding folks is my Jam - Did I mention I like puns? My work has always been rooted in food. And where my passion resides is not only feeding people food for sustenance but fueling people and using food as not only a means of nourishment but also healing
It’s time for me to do my work - I’ve been urged for the past couple of years that I need to be doing my work. The best utilization of my skill is to really dive in to creating and building with folks, and I look forward to continuing to share my vision and to collaborate with many of you because….
I’m pretty dope alone but i have always believed that we are fresher together. And as I step away from doing work in a way that has been more depleting & toxic than restorative and healing, my desires are stronger than ever to build with folks i love and care for to create magic rooted in transforming and rethinking the food system.
Fresher Together is a collaborative food project for healing, economic development, training and retreat. There are many facets to my Fresher Together dreams and i look forward to sharing those soon , starting today sharing Fresher Together Farms.
I often dream about farming in two ways. One, the way I dream about feeding myself and my family in a way that is self sustaining. Growing what we need to survive and thrive.
And the second way, I need support behind now. Farming as a business and chance for economic development in our community especially amongst marginalized folks.
Fresher Together Farms is a farm growing flavor, healing, and opportunity. Fresher Together Farm’s crops will focus on on culinary and medicinal herbs, mushrooms, and what I like to call building blocks of flavor (items that build and intensify flavors of a dish). Those items include things like, garlic, leeks, shallots, onions, aromatics. As a chef I like to think about how I like to start to build a dish full of flavor and healing magic and what items I find to be important in that process. Those often include for me herbs, alliums, etc.
What your support does for me
Reduces my costs of living and provides me with support to purchase a used Airstream
Support sustainable long term housing
Allows me to start a project that I truly believe will transform our communities in very real ways
