Amy, Kyle and Kinsley's Family Fund

This fund is set up on behalf of my friends Amy, Kyle and their daughter Kinsley Rose Smith.

AMY'S STORY

Amy is a beautiful wife and mom who in her 26 years has brought laughter and love to those around her. She may be tiny in size but her humour and heart take up the entire room. Those who know Amy know her whole heart has always belonged to Kyle. Amy and Kyle's love story started in grade seven. There are a few lucky people who fall in love and marry their best friend and Amy and Kyle knew they were meant to be from the very start.

After a country-themed summer wedding in 2015, Amy and Kyle bought their first home together, and welcomed a beautiful baby girl on August 23, 2016 that they named Kinsley Rose Smith.  It has been a privilege watching Amy become a mother and it is clear just how much Kinsley adores Amy. Kyle now shares that  coveted heart space with their baby girl.

Tragically Amy was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer on March 23, 2017.  She is currently in hospice care and Doctors have given her two weeks to say goodbye to her family, her friends, her husband and her daughter. 

Amy said one of the toughest parts about this diagnosis is knowing she will not get to watch Kinsley grow up.

Since beginning this campaign I have been so beyond moved by the response and support. I want to thank each and every one of you who have reached out and supported Kyle, Amy and Kinsley. The power of your love and support provided Amy peace.

Kyle asked me to share this message.

Last night at about 11:30 I lost my best friend my wife and the mother of my amazing daughter. Amy and I first met in middle school where we started this journey. Amy was a one of a kind woman. Without her I would never have become the man I am today. Nothing got by her. Everyday she pushed me. She knew more about me then I will ever know about myself. Her love and support is never ending. Everywhere I go and all our experiences we had together will forever pop into my mind. Our camping trips, our silly living room sleep outs watching movies, all the drives, so so many drives out to Port Renfrew to Cowichan at the blink of an eye no matter the time Amy was not one to stay inside. I would get home from work and it was time to go, the weekend was where are we going. A light day trip to Campbell River along the old highway just to see the coast and pass through the small towns Amy was always ready to go. She truly was an amazing person looking for adventure.

The last nine days we spent together we dug deep and talked about everything and everyone. The support from family, friends and complete strangers has just been so amazing. Amy and I have been so overwhelmed and touched. I know it brought peace to her knowing Kinsley would be taken care of. There are no words I can use to describe how thankful we are for everything and everyone but know you all gave Amy peace and made it possible for her to relax and find comfort in the most difficult time in both our lives. Thank you for that. Please everyone just hold and love your family and friends. Life can change so fast and without warning. We had nine beautiful days together that I will treasure for my entire life. Thank you all for your love and support through this terrible time.
