Amy and Baby Wilson Support
Amy has been through many surgeries already, and still has a long list of needed treatments. She lost a kidney, her spleen, and is still fighting a traumatic brain injury on top of multiple bone fractures in her pelvis and ribs and an open knee fracture. Baby girl was born without a heartbeat and received CPR for 11 minutes before she was resuscitated. The baby is still being monitored for damage to her kidneys, liver and brain due to the lack of oxygen at birth. Both mom and baby are in critical condition as of February 18th. We don’t know how long their recovery will be or what the long-term repercussions are as of yet.
This page was setup as a way to support the family in their time of need to help cover current and future expenses.
We cannot thank you all enough for the help you have given to our family. Grace and Amy stayed for over a month in the hospital and are well on their way to recovery because of the excellent care they received during their stay.
We have witnessed so many miracles over the past three months. Grace has far surpassed any of her prognoses. We were told that she could potentially have problems using her left side, crying, and feeding herself. She wiggles all of her limbs, cries, coos, smiles, and breastfeeds. Her pediatrician also told us that so far she is on track developmentally for her age.
Amy’s injuries included internal bleeding from a ruptured spleen and kidney, a collapsed lung, traumatic brain injury, 15 broken bones, and an emergency c-section. Amy left the hospital after 35 days basically healed except for her orthopedic injuries.
Amy was unable to put weight on her left pelvis for the 5 weeks of her hospital stay and for 4 weeks after. During those 4 weeks and with the help of physical therapy, she progressed from a wheelchair to a walker to crutches and finally to walking on her own. She has since started to run again and is up to running 2 miles (with the goal of preparing for her next marathon ).
We feel that the miracles that have happened in our family occurred because of the prayers and generosity of people like you. Thank you again and again.
Kyle and Amy Wilson
Baby has permanent brain injury that may cause long term physical limitations. We won't know the full extent of her prognosis until she grows and develops and we see what she can do as she is able.
Amy and Kyle are so grateful for all the support they have received so far. I have increased the goal since their long term financial needs are still unknown and I know they are setting aside every dollar they can for future needs.
Edit: Just added a photo of Baby Wilson
First off, I am Amy's brother and am the campaign organizer. I will be withdrawing all of your generous donations in my name. I will then give the donations to her husband either by writing a check, a direct money transfer through the bank, or gofundme does have a giant check option that might be cool for Amy to see when she wakes up.
Thank you again for all of your generous donations and support. Our family definitely has needed it!
I'm so sorry for what has happened to Amy, I too was recently in a deadly head on collision, a 19 year old who decided to huff paint and drive hit me head on going 80 mph in a school zone while I was on my way to pick up my 3 kids. The young man died and I was left behind with both legs broken an open knee and ankle fracture, both arms were broken along with my sternum,6 ribs and a lacerated liver. My carotid artery was damaged from the violence of the accident which caused me to have several strokes. I was so sad to hear about Amy and her baby, it's amazing how a community will pull together when something like this happens. I wish her the best of luck in her healing process. And she is in my thoughts as well as her family and her newborn daughter. I don't know why bad things happen to such good people.
Thanks be to God! So glad to hear they continue to heal. LOVE Grace's name!
Just curious if there have been any additional updates to this. Amy was in my ward in college and I was impressed with how kind she was to everyone. I hope she and the baby are doing well. Thanks!
Prayers for Amy And Baby . Would be great to hear more up dates on the Baby and How Amy is doing. Did they give her a name yet? It's heart breaking what happened. May Jesus healing hands be on them both.. Remember Footprints in the sand God is carrying you through this.
I don't like asking for rides to the airport, I feel it cumbersome to the person doing the favor. Amy was so willing. That's just the kind of person she is. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks for being selfless and giving.
Baby Wilson is absolutely beautiful! God bless you all. My prayers continue to be with your family. Thank you for the updates.
Amy I'm so relieved that you're pulling through. Your baby is beautiful. I bet she has a deeply compassionate nature like her mom.
We are praying for Amy, the baby and her family! This is heart breaking and was so senseless. Our God is a God of miracles!

I had a baby born at 26 weeks, she is now 32 years old with two children. I know how difficult it is to have a child, and relatives injured and in need. My heart goes out to everyone. I have a lot of experience with preterm infants and would be happy to help however I can.
