The Little Bus That Became A Center

Tax deductible
Since 2013, A Million Drops team members have been cruising the streets of Hollywood looking for young homeless people in need. We take the time to sit with them and talk to better understand how we can help.

Our direct support comes in many different forms, it consists of the distribution of toiletries, socks, sleeping bags and other essential items. We also assist with writing and printing resumes or making phone calls to social services or a family member, and once a month, we offer free laundry at a local laundromat so they can wash their clothes, blankets and sleeping bags

Another ongoing program we created is an art show, titled Unsheltered, featuring works by some of these young, at-risk adults.

It is inspiring and encouraging to see how providing talented individuals with this platform elevates them, builds their self-esteem and gives them hope for the future. We are going to organize many more art shows in the years to come.

A Million Drops makes a difference by cultivating relationships, we offer help that goes beyond handouts, but instead provide support that can lead to a life off the streets.

We will keep doing all this, but we want to be more effective and have more visibility. Rather than walking around, trying to find a young homeless whom we promised a sleeping bag or new underwear, we want them to be able to find us, on specific days, at a specific location.

Originally we had the vision to buy a retired school bus and turn it into a mobile outreach center...

... but then an incredible opportunity was presented to us, and instead of buying a bus, we signed the lease for a space, located in the heart of Hollywood, right where many of the young adults that we work with are staying.

Our long term vision has become reality. On Saturday, June 9, 2018, we officially opened our A Million Drops Center, a Creative Hub for Homeless, At-Risk Young Adults. We finally have a space where we can extend our services and provide tools and opportunities for a way out of homelessness.

Our incredible landlord will let us use the space for free (!!!) for the first two months while we were painting and decorating! To be able to pay rent for six months, we are asking for $12,000. This amount will cover rent including utilities and WiFi, as well as use of the garden, banquet hall and parking lot.

We know that many of you love what we do, and we hope you will be able to show your support by making a small (or large.... :-) donation towards our goal.

A Million Drops is an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donations will be tax deductible.
