This campaign is a continuation of the original one;
The Winstons Amen Breakbeat Gesture.

As so many people have contacted me saying they wish they could still donate, have only just found out about the campaign, or wish to very kindly donate again, I have been in contact with Gofundme to find out how best to go about things.

Due to logistical problems in transfering the funds from my UK account to Richard's USA one, I was unfortunately forced to close the original campaign.
This new one will now be able to stay open indefinitely, and as sole beneficary, Richard will be able to withdraw the donations as and when he chooses.

Please follow the Facebook page for updates and other information.

Hi everyone, thank you for the continued support for the Amen fund! I wouldn't normally post other campaigns on this page, and have had many requests for me to do so, but understand it could get annoying. However, this is one for a personal friend. He is a fellow raver and is need of a wheel chair upgrade. Please take a moment to read his story and donate if possible. Thanks, Martyn

As an old Drum & Bass DJ and distributor, I was saddened to hear that Coleman and The Winstons did not get their dues for their massive contribution to musical culture and how I was living

Because I’m a retired club DJ from the late 80s and early 90s, and I know I’ve played Mr. Spencer’s copyrighted sampled drum riff more times than I can count. And I did it to make people dance, which made them thirsty, which drove them to a bar where my boss made money. That’s one reason. The other is, I’m now 53, back in college working on a PhD in political science. I had no idea a member of the band who inspired the sub genre of music I love the most - to this day- took almost the same academic path I’m on. Breaks, as an EDM genre, is pretty nuanced. But even more nuanced is the degree path. It sounds like he more than deserves compensation for the product. But nobody goes into the business of educating our youth unless they have a good heart. That’s the real reason.

Use this towards suing a few of the real biggy users of that break who never paid a cent.
