The children of Amatsiko School have already overcome one crisis. Now we have the opportunity to build something even better.

Just months ago, Amatsiko Preparatory School in Uganda faced an uncertain future.

A government demolition order threatened part of the school, putting the education and wellbeing of 420 vulnerable children at risk.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of people around the world, we were able to act quickly.

Your donations helped build a permanent boundary wall that protected the school and gave us the time we desperately needed.

To every single person who donated, shared our story or encouraged us along the way...

Thank you.

Because of you, this story hasn't ended in crisis. It became the beginning of a much bigger dream.

A Bigger Vision for the Future

When the immediate crisis eased, our team stepped back and asked an important question.

If we're going to build the future of Amatsiko, how can we build it in the best possible way?

With guidance from experienced supporters, educators and development specialists, we realised something important.

Building a new classroom block on the land we already own would certainly help.

But it would still leave much of the school operating on rented land.

If that land were ever sold or lost, hundreds of children could once again face uncertainty.

Instead, we have an extraordinary opportunity to create something far more secure.

We've identified a beautiful five-acre site that can become the permanent home of Amatsiko Preparatory School.

A place where every classroom, every playground and every child belongs together on one safe campus.

Not just for today.

But for generations to come.

More Than a School

For more than 11 years, Amatsiko Preparatory School in Kabale, south-western Uganda has been a place of hope.

A place where orphaned and vulnerable children receive not only an education, but safety, encouragement, nutritious meals, community and the belief that their future matters.

The word Amatsiko means "hope" in Rukiga.

Every morning, that hope walks through our school gates.
For many children, school is the safest place they know.

Some have lost parents. Some come from extremely vulnerable homes. Many rely on Amatsiko for daily meals, stability and the chance to build a brighter future.

This has never been just about classrooms. It's about protecting childhood.

Why This New Land Changes Everything

The five-acre campus gives us the opportunity to dream beyond simply replacing buildings.

It allows us to create a school that is safe, permanent and increasingly self-sustaining.

Alongside classrooms, our long-term vision includes:

  • Permanent learning spaces built to government standards

  • Safe outdoor play and sports facilities

  • Fruit trees and nutritional gardens to help feed our pupils

  • Sustainable agriculture projects

  • Rabbit and pig breeding programmes that teach practical life skills while helping generate income for the school

  • Space for future growth as more vulnerable children need support

Rather than depending entirely on donations forever, these projects will help Amatsiko provide food, practical education and long-term financial sustainability.

This isn't simply about building a school.
It's about building a future.

Why We Need Your Help Now

We have identified the perfect piece of land.

It costs $95,000 USD.

The owners have kindly agreed to reserve it for us if we can raise a $50,000 deposit, giving us six months to raise the remaining balance.

That gives us an incredible opportunity.

But it also creates urgency.

Kabale is growing rapidly and is in the process of becoming a city. Land prices continue to rise and opportunities like this won't remain available forever.

Securing this land is the single most important step we can take towards protecting the future of Amatsiko.

Building It Well

We're also delighted to be working alongside Construction for Change, a non-profit organisation with experience supporting community construction projects.

They will help oversee planning, design and construction, ensuring every pound donated is used wisely and that every building is safe, durable and built to serve the children for decades to come.

This School Exists Because People Never Gave Up

Amatsiko Preparatory School was founded by people who grew up in poverty themselves.

Co-founders Alex Atuheire and Alphonse Twinamasiko understand the barriers children face because they lived them.

As a child, Alphonse worked to pay his own school fees, even raising rabbits so he could continue his education.

Those experiences became the foundation of Amatsiko.

Today, the school continues to transform lives through compassion, resilience and the belief that education changes everything.

Over the years, supporters from around the world have volunteered, sponsored children, visited the school and become part of the Amatsiko family.

This is more than a school. It is a community. A lifeline.
A place where every child is reminded that they matter.

How You Can Help

Today, we're inviting you to become part of the next chapter.

Every donation helps bring us closer to securing a permanent home where hundreds of vulnerable children can continue learning, growing and dreaming.

Whether you give $10 or $10,000, you are investing in far more than land.

You are investing in safety, education, opportunity and hope.

If you're unable to donate today, you can still make an enormous difference by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, workplace, school, church or community.

Together, we can give Amatsiko the permanent home it has always deserved.

Together, we can protect hope for generations to come.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Alex Atuheire & Alphonse Twinamasiko
