Take Care of the Kofoeds
In early October 2016, Amanda found a lump under her arm. After a quick series of doctor visits, tests, scans, and a biopsy, it was confirmed that she has Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma and that she has progressed to stage 3.
She had to drop out of school and quit her job, and will undergo 6 months of intensive chemotherapy. Clint and Amanda have 4 young kids, school loans, a future full of uncertainty, and daunting medical bills.
Which is why we need your help.
We are trying to raise money to put a dent in the overwhelming costs of medical care, out of pocket expenses, and unforeseen emergencies that our friends are sure to deal with as the year goes forward. Our generosity can help win this battle, and our love and prayers will carry them through the dark.
Thank you for caring, and thank you for helping!
"My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life."
I guess the flash mob video has made a resurgence in the last couple of weeks. I have been receiving a lot of encouraging messages and requests about how I am doing so I thought I would give an update here ❤️. I am doing great! I just passed a year since I completed 6 months of chemo followed by 6 weeks of radiation. Yay! My last PET scan was all clear and I am due for my next CT scan next week to make sure nothing has changed. Over the last year, I returned to my schooling and was able to graduate this May with my BA in Elementary Education. Now I am enjoying my summer off with my kids while searching for the right teaching position. I could not have made it to where I am today without the amazing out pouring of love and generosity of my family, friends and community. I cannot thank you guys enough for all you have done to carry my family through this journey. Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️.
Can you believe what you're doing here?
Can you believe what your love and generosity are generating? Because that's basically what you are at this point: a back-up generator for a family who was worried when the lights began to flicker. You are the light. You are the courage. You are the hope.
Thank you for all you have given- thank you for all you are giving. This money is the answer to fervent prayers, which means YOU are the answer to our prayers. I hope you can feel that, and I hope you know how much your messages and kindness mean to Amanda and Clint as they prepare to fight for Amanda's life.
Hi, There is a medical study that is seeking 24 volunteers for Hodgkins Lymphoma. I thought this was divine providence that I would see an article about this trial related to your story. Hi I just saw your story on facebook. I currently work for a company in California called Kite Pharma and we deal with patient's who have Non Hodgskins Lymphoma, specifically Diffuse large B cell Lymphoma, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, or Mantle Cell Lymphoma. We use T-Cell therapy and currently in clinical trials. We have had great success with all of our patients. I encourage you to look this up as a possible option in addition to Chemo therapy, if you have any of these types. Good luck!
I just saw the video of the surprise in the restaurant and then this page. My Mom was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease in the early 70s and it was a death sentence. Since I follow this closely, I know that it is now one of the most curable forms of cancer. I pray that you have received the needed treatment an that you and your family are happy and healthy.
You are an amazing woman, with an amazing husband and beautiful children. My families thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
