Due to your incredibly generous donations, we are no longer taking donations for this family. But there are many other families in need - if you would like to donate (or encourage others to!) please direct funds to our other families in need, or our general fund found at ImmigrantFamiliesTogether.com  Thank you, again, for your generous donations and contributing to changing this family’s life. With love and light, Immigrants Families Together

SUPPORT FOR AMALIA - MOM #2

Immigrant Families Together is a movement to help reunite detained parents with their children. With grassroots effort and community donations, we just successfully bonded out Yeni Gonzalez and she's held her kids again ( https://nyti.ms/2lRD7jy)-- there is a long line of moms waiting to do the same. Amalia is next, and here is the plan. Amalia is a mother currently detained at an ICE facility in Arizona. Her children have been transferred to Florida.

Amalia CAN be reunited with her kids and we're determined to help her, working in conjunction with her attorney, to bond her out and reunite her family.

Any funds raised beyond this goal will be used to reunite other families.

WHO WE ARE
Immigrant Families Together is a network of Americans committed to rapid response unification of families separated by the zero tolerance' policy. We have mobilized to help parents currently detained through the following immediate actions:
1. Raising of bond funds through coordinated crowdfunding and individual giving in order to post bond for parents separated from their children at the US/Mexico Border.
2. Paying bonds and providing pro bono legal representation to fulfill all legal responsibilities while awaiting trial so that they may be with their children.
3. Arranging safe transportation from state of detention to the city where children are currently in foster care.
4. When needed, finding long-term housing in the destination city while they await trial.
5. Connecting parents in cities with resources in order to sustain them during the process of being unified with their children.
6. Working with local organizations and government to expedite the process of achieving full custody of their children while they await trial.
7. We are creating a toolkit to allow other concerned citizens to replicate our model in order to help bring parents back to their children across the country as quickly as possible.

WHERE WE ARE FROM
We are from New York

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
We will be paying Amalia's ICE bond, transporting her from Arizona to Florida, and paying for her accommodations, transportation, food, cell phone, and other expenses, as well as providing her with support to attend appointments and reunite her family.

HOW WE ARE RELATED TO THE BENEFICIARY
We are not related to Amalia or her attorney by blood. We are a community of concerned parents and citizens who don't support the current separation policy and want to do our part to reunify Amalia with her children.

HOW WILL WE BE HANDLING THE FUNDS
We will withdraw all donated funds to Julie, the leader/organizer/founder of Immigrant Families Together. They will then be transferred to her attorney or Amalia. Expenses to be paid include: ICE bond, transportation from Eloy, Arizona to Florida, lodging, food, local transportation, food, cell-phone, and other expenses Amalia may incur as part of her reunification, including but not limited to costs of preparing for her court appearances (copies of documents, etc).

Dear Generous Donors,
Amalia was permanently reunited with her children yesterday, due to the work of the amazing Florida pod of Immigrant Families Together, and all your generous donations. You did this. YOU. DID. THIS. In the face of atrocities such as these families being ripped apart, it’s easy to shut down and turn away, but you decided to become the light in the darkness instead of succumbing to it. And because of your strength and bravery, a family that may have never found each other again is waking up in one another’s arms this morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Dear Generous Donors--

Amalia is one of two moms arriving at their destinations today after cross-country journeys headed up by amazing volunteers. Both moms have been appointed pro-bono legal counsel through our group.

This effort continues to spread backed by the most courageous elected officials in our country, and with some of the best immigrant legal support we could have dreamed of.

If you are active on social media, any time one of your contacts posts about the travesties of how this administration is handling detainees, you might post a link to our organization-- and let them know what we are doing is working, Anyone can volunteer or jump in. A bunch of angry moms started this, and you all kept it going.

Dear Generous Donors--

Amalia is en route via ride share across the country to be reunited with her family, continuing on her route. Your funding will make it possible for her to make it all the way. As we keep reminding ourselves, this just the beginning of a long, difficult process. We will share with you whatever details we can, but meanwhile know that the liberated mothers are literally singing their thanks in the cars.

Thank you for continuing to spread the word on this campaign. We will not stop until all the detained families are liberated and reunited.

With heart & gratitude,
Team Amalia--& Immigrant Families Together

Dear Generous Donors-- Today, we are thrilled to announce that Amalia's bond was posted, and her liberation will follow shortly. This campaign began with Yeni's liberation, which attracted serious publicity for the right reasons. Now, with your help and insistence, it will continue in glorious domino impact throughout the detention facilities, one mom at a time. We will keep the details of Amalia's story basic to protect her family's privacy, but will keep you updated on the steps in her progress towards reunification. Meanwhile, please keep spreading the word about these campaigns. It is such a long and challenging road to reunification, and the more funds we receive, the more we can be sure these families are completely cared for in this arduous process. With heart & gratitude,
Team Amalia-- & Immigrant Families Together
