Alyssa's Medical Expenses

$7,565 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 132 people in 6 months
Created December 6, 2018
Alyssa is the beautiful 3 year old daughter of Anthony Bartolotta and Katie Lynn Jackson. On December 5, 2018, while Anthony was at work and in the care of a babysitter, she was viciously attacked by a dog. Her condition is stable at the moment; she is recovering from surgery that repaired her fractured skull, and we pray that there is no infection or complications. That said, she still has nerve damage in her face and there is concern for the condition of her eye. She will also have to undergo facial reconstruction. Alyssa is a truly a fighter!

Anthony is raising both of his children, Alyssa and Justin, who is an amazing 7 year old boy with non-verbal autism.

Katie and Anthony have been by Alyssa’s side the entire time she has been at the hospital. We ask for your prayers for a speedy recovery and for any donations at all that may help ease this financial stress.

Here's an update from Susan Lewis:

"This precious sweet girl, Alyssa, (Faye’s great grand daughter) is scheduled to be released from hospital today.* Her family thanks you all for your love, prayers and support. She is doing well and and on her way home to recover from the most horrific, near fatal pit bull attack. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We are still praying she will regain her left side facial muscle abilities (nerve was severed) among other injuries. Alyssa is a smart, beautiful, loving and forgiving 3 year old. She is such a trooper. However, please DO NOT approach her if you are wearing scrubs. She is OVER being poked and prodded and ready to go home! We love you Alyssa."

*According to her mother Katie, she is actually being released tomorrow due to a final round of antibiotics that are being administered intravenously.

Alyssa is currently recovering from surgery -- the infection is clearing up! As you can see, she has had her stitches removed and her wounds are beginning to heal properly. Thank you all so much for your kind words, prayers, and generous donations. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

The funds raised by this campaign have been placed into a savings account belonging to the Fundraising Team. We (Jacquie and Lisa Lapenna, cousins to the Bartolotta family), are so incredibly happy to present Alyssa's father Anthony with a check for all of the funds so graciously donated by you all, and we will continue to do so indefinitely! Every penny helps. It is thanks to all of you that the our hope has remained so strong, and it is such a blessing to Alyssa and her family that the financial stress of this tragic accident has been so greatly lessened.

Last night, Alyssa developed a high fever due to infection. Her doctors are working hard to find its source and to treat it, though additional surgery may be needed. She has gone through so much these past couple of days.

On behalf of Alyssa and her family, we want to thank you all so much for your prayers and your donations. It is amazing to see members of our community come together in a time of such great need.

We still need your help: please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
