Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the contributions made to this wonderful charity.

Donations are now closed. Our sole focus is now Jenny and making sure she has the best support possible.

We will never be able to thank everyone individually.

You are all amazing.

————————————————————————

As many of you now know, Jenny was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two weeks ago.

36 hours later she started an aggressive cycle of chemotherapy and will have her next cycle this Thursday.  As part of this treatment she will lose her hair so she has decided to preempt this by shaving her hair this weekend.

When Jenny was diagnosed the shock was immense. She battled with emotions that were hard to understand and comprehend. During the 48 hours that followed Jenny was visited by a psychologist from the Hugh Cooney Foundation. This visit gave her a well needed outlet to discuss her feelings in private and confidence.

The Hugh Cooney Foundation was founded by the late Hugh Cooney when he himself noticed a gap in psychological services provided to recently diagnosed cancer patients.

Our aim is to raise €10,000 from now until midnight on Friday. We will close donations at this time.  Every single penny raised will go directly to the Hugh Cooney Foundation and will be used to continue the provision of this amazing service.

Jenny will continue to receive counselling from the Hugh Cooney Foundation during her treatment and she is enormously grateful for this.

Her positivity is infectious, her calmness is reassuring and her love and appreciation is never ending.

Thank you all so much.

I have been asked by Go Fund Me to answer the following two questions:

1. How will the funds be transferred to the beneficiary charity?

Once the fundraiser closes at midnight tonight the funds will be transferred directly to the Hugh Cooney Foundation bank account. There will be no deductions made or intermediary bank accounts used. The funds will transfer directly to the charity.

2. How the funds will be spent (please be specific as possible)

2/10/2018 - Please note we have updated our withdrawal plan. We will now be withdrawing the funds to the account of Jennifer McGovern and Alan McGovern and then transferrin the complete amount to the bank account of Hugh Cooney Foundation.

The money will go directly to fund the salaries of the psychologists. These psychologists visit recently diagnosed cancer patients and walk through their journey with them giving a vital outlet to express emotion and to come to terms with their diagnosis.
