Jean-Pierre Alphonse Mouzon  CANYON COUNTRY, CA
Over the past sevral months Jazz Drummer Alphonse Mouzon had been battling cancer. He had been in and out of Kaiser Hospitals as well as the CHIPSA treatment center in Mexico. He had a lot of complications during his treatment. I want to personally thank everyone who had contributed to his Gofundme for his Gerson Treatment. On December 21st Alphonse Mouzon returned to Kaiser in Woodland Hills due to complications with his neuphrosomy tubes. He had a surgery to fix his tubes and then was released home.

On Christmas morning Alphonse Mouzon began to display trouble breathing. His daughter Emma immediately began giving CPR while her mother Allison called 911. EMT staff arrived on scene and tried to revive Alphonse. After several attemps he was declared deceased, with the cause being cardiac arrest. His sons arrived immediately to the home in Granada Hills, and got to see and say goodbye to their father for the last time. We stayed with him until Funeral Service Staff arrived and took him to the Forest Lawn Memorial  Park in North Hollywood,CA.

Alphonse Mouzon was a loving father. He was always so very proud of all of his children. He always would tell us, that whatever we do in life strive to be the best. Alphonse Mouzon to many was an amazing musician, but to us he will always be an amazing man, father and grandfather. He was kind yet firm. He was compassionate, and did an amazing job raising 2 sons and a daughter. His music has touched the lives of so many people around the world and will continue to do so. Thats the power of music and any art form. It will always live on after we are gone.  Funds raised will go to cover his funeral expenses. Any little bit helps. Please send your prayers and thoughts as this is a very difficult time for our family.

He is survived by his two sons Alphonse Phillipe and Jean-Pierre, his daughter Emma Alexandra,  his sisters Cherry and Elvina, and Granddaughters Andrea and Mikayla

Jean-Pierre I love you & your family like I loved your Father Alphonse; Immensly!!! My Heartfelt Condolences to you and the Family. Alphonse made an impression on me along time ago through his music with Zappa & Weather Report. Never dreamt that I'd ever meet him in person and be able to call him my Brother, my Friend! You're everything I thought you'd be and more. A Humble Sensei, Intelligent, Sensitive, Sweet, Sexy, Silly with a Sense of Humor that'd make ya cry for laughing so hard, And Full of Love & Compassion for all of Mankind! Thanks A Million!!!
