Aaron wants to play outside

Donation protected
This is my 7 year old son Aaron.  He is a very curious and extremely fast little guy.  Aaron also has Down syndrome and is what is called an eloper.  What this means is that he escapes and runs for any and no reason without any knowledge of this being dangerous.  He needs constant 1:1 supervision. Because of this, he does not get many opportunities kids his age get to go outside and play because we fear we will lose him.  When he attends summer camps or outings, he requires a 1:1 and sometimes even a 2:1 to keep tabs on him.  It’s not uncommon for him to need to be tethered to an adult to keep him from running.

Aaron loves the outdoors, and is always excited to go outside.  He truly loves to play and explore but this is limited to when I take him to an enclosed park or have additional help to keep him supervised.  Even at school, Aaron requires a 1:1 and often times he is not allowed on the playground because he runs out of the boundaries. His running presents a great danger to himself.

I strongly believe that if Aaron were able to experience “freedom” he will become less of an eloper.  In order for this to happen, we need to enclose our yard with a fence.  A fence would open up so many possibilities for him to explore, play and just be a kid.  I am asking for help in obtaining the funds to get Aaron a fenced in yard.  A fence would ensure his safety and allow him more freedom to play and enjoy being the curious boy that he is.

Thank you to all that reads this and feel they are able to help.  I believe that a fence would be life changing for all of us.

 Always a ham!
