"Allie Saum's Marathon Scholarship"

I have committed to completing the OKLAHOMA CITY MARATHON (26.2 miles) on April 24, 2016 in honor of Allie Saum and my campaign, "End Senseless Violence! Live, love and inspire our youth!" Over the next 348 days as I train my goal will be to collect $500.00 to start the Allie Saum Scholarship which will be given to a Salina Senior that has shown exemplary reputation for participating in their church and school activities that are dedicated to helping others. It is my small way to encourage our youth today to "give of themselves" to others and honor a young lady that was called home way to soon. It has been years (and I mean many) since I completed my 1st and only marathon and since then I have had many physical setbacks and new physical challenges but this gives me an incentive to challenge myself because Allie will never have the opportunity because of an act of senseless violence. That is not what I want my hometown known for my friends. My Salina is a place filled with opportunity, a friend at every corner, and a community that pulls together when times are tough. For Allie! Join me!! Here I go..
