All-Abilities Playground Equipment
Donation protected
Hello! We are the Daley Family.....Lige, Angie, Elijah, Kadence and Emerson. Our family is currently raising money to purchase an apparatus in honor of Elijah and Kadence for the All-Abilities Playground that is being built in our hometown of Highland, IL. This specialized equipment ranges anywhere from $5,000 up to $20,000. We're asking for your help in this endeavor.
Elijah and Kadence were born premature at 25 weeks ten years ago. Due to a grade IV brain bleed that they both developed at birth, both Elijah and Kadence have some disabilities as a result. Kadence is cortically blind and has autism, and Elijah has cerebral palsy, is confined to a wheelchair, and is g-tube fed.
Elijah and Kadence would love nothing more than to be able to enjoy a favorite childhood pastime of going to the playground and actually getting to "play" on the equipment. Up to this point, Elijah has had to sit on the sidelines, for the topography of all the playgrounds in town make it difficult to maneuver his wheelchair on. There are also no swings that accommodate his trunk stability. As part of the design of this playground, we would be able to push Elijah's wheelchair onto a merry-go-round and onto all levels of the apparatus without the strain of having to lift him out of his chair. Being blind, Kadence loves the sound of music. One of the features of this new playground is a musical instrument section.
This playground means so much to our family. Emerson would love nothing more than to be able to play on the same playground as her brother and sister. Elijah and Kadence face many challenges in their everyday lives......making friends and being able to play with them in the community shouldn't be another one. We're asking for your monetary support for this very passionate cause of ours.
Thank you and God Bless!
