As many of you know Alicia was a shot from an act of terrible violence in Vegas. I think it’s important to make sure during her recovery that her and Nick are supported financially from friends and family. The last thing they need to be worrying about are hospital bills. Please support them with anything that you can. Thank you again for being such a wonderful hometown community coming together and taking care of our own. THANK YOU!
- Alicia was made beneficiary to all funds that are being donated to help her hospital bills, Hotel stays and anything else she might need during her recovery period.
"I cannot even begin to say thank you enough for the generosity you all have shown me and my family. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and donations. There really are no words to express just how grateful I am for each of you! I work for an incredible company, SanMar, that really is my extended family. I have felt that since the day I starter there 4/8/13. I have never felt more appreciated, loved and supported by an employer and my coworkers than I do working for SanMar and the wonderful owners that make it all happen! I want to thank the Lott's and all of my SanMar family for everything you have done for me. I want to thank every family member, friend, acquaintances, and strangers who have lent a helping hand, donated and sent me well wishes. I love you all!!
Update on progress: I had surgery 10/7 to remove a bullet fragment from my left thigh. It was thought that this was causing an infection and thus removing it would help me heal. After it was removed, they found that I had an additional infection in my intestines that may have been the true culprit of my fever. I likely got it in the hospital in Vegas as it takes time to build. I was given antibiotics to treat it but it did not go away so I am now being treated another 2 weeks. Aside from that there is nothing more they can do for my back or the remaining shrapnel that remains in my body. My back may or may not heal itself but the pain may improve or seem to improve by getting use to it being there.
I am extremely lucky while many others were not. The angle and location of the gun shot wound was such that it did not hit my spinal cord or affect any of my organs. The orthopedic said just two inches higher and I would be paralyzed waist down. I am thankful to be alive and ok. My heart aches for those who passed away and those who have very long roads to recovery as well as anyone who had to witness this senseless act of hate. But with this event I have seen the good that exists in this world still! Good was in all the medics, police, firemen, strangers, military and medical background concert goers who helped those fallen get to safety and care. It was in the uber driver and civilians using their vehicles to transport victims. And it is in all of you who Have supported me and my family! I looked for the helpers I saw so many!!
Sorry for the long post but I wanted you to know that I appreciate every single one of you!"
I have upped the amount on the go fund me. Alicia had to get rushed to the hospital in an aid car today for another surgery. Shrapnel from the bullet had gone into her thigh and got infected. She needs to go get the shrapnel taken out and put on antibiotics. More updates to come.
