Lost home, everything in earthquake

$3,855 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 58 people in 39 months

My name is Janna Cain of Charlotte North Carolina,  my first cousins- inlaw  Christian Limongi, Mayra Macias  and their baby Mia are now homeless and have lost everything they own, their home was located in the same building as their family business it was a small store
10763179_1461275209.6819_funddescription that sold children's party goods for birthdays . So not only have they lost their home in all of their belongings but they have also lost their family business and their livelihood. They  lived in Manta Ecuador, in Barrio Tarrqui (One of the areas most devastated by the earthquake)

I have added a picture of what is left of Christians home and family business above.

We re trying to help them raise money so that they can start to rebuild their lives. We are asking an initial goal of  A couple of thousand which is an estimated amount to help this family relocate to a safer area as their city is still without power,  and the building that they used to call home is nothing but a pile of rubbleThe idea is that with $1-3k they can relocate and pay rent and utilities else where, where they  can begin to recoverAs you probably know Ecuador was hit by a strong earthquake of 7.8 on Saturday night. The whole country is in a state of emergency, there are at least 480 dead and 4060 injured  and 107 still missing (figures that are likely to increase).  This country does not have the resources to respond to this type of emergency. Please if you can help with any type of donation you would make a big difference  in the life of this family who lost their home and everything they own to the quake.  no amount is too small or too large, we thank you dearly for your help. The sharing of this post is also greatly appreciated. Thank you so much dear friends!

Once the goal is reached all of the funds will be sent to the recipient Christian Limongi via Western Union, I will provide receipt to all contributors once transaction has taken place.  If the goal is reached before Saturday this weekend we will send the funds with our aunt  Christians aunt also) Gina Limongi as she is traveling to Guayaquil by plane and she will meet with Christian to deliver the funds.

In the spirit of full transparency Christian Limongi and his wife Mayra have been tagged in every Facebook post regarding this campaign so that they in the few moments that they do have electricity on their phones can check in and see what people are donating.

I'm posting yet another update, this one is pretty heavy on my heart. Christian just sent pictures of what used to be his home, I will post them here, I noticed that the building looks like a store underneath, I asked Christian about that and he informed me it was his wife's store for children's party decorations, and it's completely obliterated. So not only did they lose their home, but also their business, their livelihood and essentially most of the families income. And all in one fell swoop. In light of this new information Christian has asked that I leave the campaign going and I decided to raise the goal to 3k being that we are over Halfway there and they lost Home+belongings+++ business store job. The news of this additional information really broke my heart, I knew it was bad, but I had no idea it was that bad
Christian and Mayras home was here in the top of this building, on the lower level was their business, a children's party decor store called Magic Mundo...it's all gone now

Christian and I spoke on the phone today in the few moments that he had battery charge, and he had this to say about all the money his friends and family have raised "amidst all the despair and sadness, this has been a beacon of hope and happiness for us- thank you all so very much!"

Every little bit helps, we are making this happen, we are raising enough to help them relocate to a safer city and start to rebuild their lives. Please I'd like to ask you all dear friends to continue to share this post, and to please donate any amount even very small amount is wonderful, and this will go directly to one family who lost everything in the quake, this isn't a blind charity, this is a family you will be able to monitor and get updates from as your donations change their lives ❤️
