I started MILK + HONEY back in 2009. It was called Barefruit Co., at the time, and we had a small storefront on Etsy.com. Barefruit Co. was birthed out of my own personal natural hair journey. I wanted to create a product that would work for my hair texture. At the time, there weren't many options on store shelves.
Barefruit Co. did well for about two years and then I decided to rebrand because I wanted to prepare for the potential of being on store shelves.
In 2012, I relaunched Barefruit Co. as MILK + HONEY. MILK + HONEY has been very successful in the U.S. We have boutiques throughout the country that carry the MILK + HONEY collection and we are also on www.curlmart.com.
In 2013, we began to expand abroad and there are now stores in the U.K. and France that carry MILK + HONEY.
A few weeks ago, MILK + HONEY was invited to meet with the buyers of WalMart. This, by far, is one of the greatest opportunities that any small business owner could hope for.
In two weeks, I will be traveling to WalMart's corporate offices to meet with their buyers about the potential of MILK + HONEY being carried on WalMart shelves.
This could very well change the direction of my small business. MILK + HONEY is my dream and I am very excited about this grand opportunity.
I need your help.
I will be driving to the corporate office site and will need help with travel related expenses. This opportunity came very quickly and I wasn't expecting it!
