The Story: This beautiful, active 6 yr old boy was visiting his Grandparents for summer vacation with his older sister and having the time of his life when he fell 45 feet  (3 stories) out of an attic window at his grandparents house in MN.  He had landed on his head, as many kids do, and had many critical injuries to include: fractured Femur, Broken both wrists, internal organ injuries and fractured his Right eye orbit into pieces.  He was in critical condition and was air evacuated twice to get him to Children's hospital in Minnesota.   It was touch and go for the 1st 2 days due to brain swelling and the risk of more swelling than he could handle.  But Xander had a lot of help, support and prayers and pulled through the 1st couple days which then gave the Dr's the opportunity to perform surgery to remove the fragments of his Right Eye socket so it didn't damage his brain.  Xander was in a lot of pain and had some anxiety as his eyes were swollen shut for a few days after the surgery but again, recovered well and quicker than Dr's thought he would.  Xander spent more than a week in the ICU before he was cleared by Dr's to come home with mom and dad.  Both parents stayed by his side the entire time, never leaving the ICU or his side for the 1st 10 days.  Xander still has a long road ahead of him PT, OT Speech and Follow ups to Neurosurgeons, Neurology for seizures and orthopedic care.
He has the most amazing, contagious smile even through all that has happened to him.

Thank you for keeping the family and Xander in your prayers and continuing to support them through their next journey of their lives.
One day this will all just be an amazing story that he can tell his own kids!!

For transparency's sake, we want you all to know there are 2 separate GoFundMe campaigns that were set up by friends of the family when Xander first had his accident. We looked into combining the campaigns, but we would have lost donor information if we did that. So, we are keeping them separate. They are both going to help the same family and the beneficiary for both is Aimee Carlson, Xander's mom. If you have any questions about this, just let me know!
