Aila's Medical Fund
Donation protected
My husband Eric and I are close friends with the Nesbitts. And for the past several weeks Nick and Amy's daughter, Aila, has been fighting off fevers off and on. On Saturday, things took a turn for the worst and they took Aila to the emergency room at Mercy. After bloodwork showed some concern they then transferred her to Blank Children's Hospital for further testing.
On Sunday Aila received a blood transfusion because her body was not making enough red blood cells. A bone marrow biopsy was planned for today (Monday) but after further bloodwork a pathologist confirmed every parents worst nightmare- she has been diagnosed with Leukemia.
There are still many unknowns at this time. Aila is still battling a fever. But she is scheduled to have a port placed tomorrow, a bone marrow biopsy to confirm the type of Leukemia, as well as begin her first round of chemo.
This is a lot for their family to process. We want them to worry only about Aila and getting her healthy, as they have a long road ahead of them. We ask all of you to join us in raising the Nesbitt's up in prayer and help in any way you can. As the medical bills will begin to mount, please consider donating for this beautiful little girl and her family.
We will provide an update in the days to come. We want to thank all of you for your continued prayers and support for the Nesbitts.
