Get Aidan To COP21 in Paris

One year ago, Aidan Ferris and two friends went to Omega institute to hear Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Speak... He and his brother Itzcuauhtli  head Earth Guardians  , a Youth Led, Intergenerational organization dedicated to protecting the Earth, Air, Water and Atmosphere for future generations. 


Aidan was the president of the Environmental Club at SUNY Ulster, and aside from being inspired by his work, she had no idea that one year later she would be returning to the same conference, with members of her crew invited to speak, as a representative of both Earth Guardians and Earth Guardians New York  , a chapter she co-founded in her hometown of Woodstock. 


She had no idea that over the next five months she would be calling her school's administrators into account, playing an integral part  in  helping to protect the Hudson Valley region from a government supported corporate water grab.  

Or that she would become a RYSE (Rising Youth For A Sustainable Earth)  Youth Council Member, working alongside Xiuhtexcatl and Itzcuauhtli to lead youth leadership trainings around the country and become an immense support to the crew at EG Headquarters.  


One year ago, she couldn't imagine...  that she would be invited  to join Xiuhtezcatl and other incredible youth at The Paris Climate Talks (COP21)  to participate as part of an Earth Guardians Delegation of Youth Leaders! 

But she is, and she did and she continues to work both locally and globally, speaking up for the protection of our planet.  

Her work in the Hudson Valley is inspiring intergenerational action, as she mentors with patience and kindness, speaks up in places like Federal Energy Regulatory hearings, conferences and classrooms, turns out for actions with partnering organizations,  actualizing the work that needs to be done to create solutions that will expand our potential for positive change in the face of our ever changing climate. 

As Co-Founder & Co-Director of Earth Guardians New York, I am working diligently alongside her to support the young voices in our region, and this trip will invigorate our chapter exponentially. When Aidan goes to COP21, the whole EGNY Crew goes with her in spirit. We will be here, on the ground, supporting her and sharing updates from the Delegation as they go. 

When she returns, we will be fortunate to assist her in presenting to the community, what she has gained on the journey. 

~As part of the Earth Guardians delegation, with a full schedule of actions, events and workshops throughout the COP

~Aidan will be facilitating a workshop and meeting youth leaders from around the world at COY 11 (Conference of Youth) 

~ She will be giving daily updates to the EGNY team to report back into the community

~Aidan is helping organize the youth climate strike on Nov. 30th, the first day of the COP. One million youth are walking out to demand that leaders act on climate change. You can learn more and register your action here: http://www.earthguardians.org/ climatestrike/ 

~Aidan will attend briefings and meetings and bring a youth voice advocating for Climate Justice 

And she will bring it all back to the Hudson Valley and beyond. 

Please help me in making this amazing opportunity a reality. It is exciting to support her, and all of the young people stepping up to bring about solutions that are invaluable in these times. 

We need to raise the funds as soon as possible, Airfare will be going up!

$1000 Plane Ticket

$800 Food and Ground Transport

Aidan will be staying with the Earth Guardians in Paris, so her lodging will be covered. 

The remainder is what will be going back to GoFundMe, as they require a percentage for hosting this fundraiser.
