Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse

We are pleased to announce that Rotary Club Boca Raton West and the Little Smiles Foundation have teamed up for a wonderful project!
Many of us usually don't think much about victims of domestic abuse, because either such problem does not affect us directly or seems far removed from our reality.
However the truth is that this problem has no face, is not disclosed for obvious reasons and often ends up forgotten until we see a report of some woman who suffered the last aggression before succumbing at the hands of her aggressor.
But fortunately there is the AVDA , which is an Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse; They have a wonderful shelter here in South Florida, currently with capacity for 50 women and 25 children.
Our most recent project is to reform the Study Room of the children who remain there for most of the day after they return from school, until their mothers arrive from their jobs.
We count on the voluntary project of designer Daniela Guaraciaba Amaral, who will simply transform that room into an oasis for those children.

É com muito prazer que informamos que o Rotary Club Boca Raton West e a Fundação Little Smiles se uniram para um projeto maravilhoso!
Muitos de nós não pensamos muito sobre vítimas de abuso doméstico pois este problema não nos afeta diretamente ou parece muito distante de nossa realidade. No entanto a verdade é que este problema não tem rosto, não é divulgado por razões óbvias e muitas vezes termina esquecido até vemos uma reportagem de alguma mulher que sofreu a última agressão antes de sucumbir nas mãos de seu agressor.
Mas felizmente existe a AVDA , que é uma entidade de ajuda a vítimas de abuso doméstico; eles possuem um abrigo maravilhoso aqui no sul da Florida com capacidade no momento para 50 mulheres e 25 crianças.
Nosso projeto é reformar a sala de estudo das crianças que ali permanecem a maior parte do dia; quando voltam da escola até as mães chegarem de seus trabalhos.
Contamos com o projeto voluntário da designer Daniela Guaraciaba Amaral, que simplesmente vai transformar este quarto em um oásis para estas crianças.
