Campaign to raise Funds for the Bucket List of Loren Marino and her Cesky Terrier Hector.
Loren is a 42-year-old retired Navy veteran and is fighting her many illnesses. Loren was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndromes first, which then progressed to Leukemia. Last September, Loren was also dignosed with ovarian cancer, which with her other, (numerous allergies, compromised immune system, heart condition, asthma, ehlers danlos, to name a few) medical conditions is extremely complicated to treat.
Loren was given the option of surgery, which she was told would not cure but might slow down the spread of the disease. Loren weighed the recovery time, which would be lengthy and would pose plenty of limitations on what activities she could enjoy. So, Loren opted instead for quality of life.
Loren & Hector, a Cesky Terrier, attended Westminster on Tuesday, 16 February 2016, having collected an Award of Merit in 2014, the coveted Best of Breed in 2015, and Yes again they Achieved a Best of Breed in 2016!
Loren would have liked to have taken Hector to Crufts but the Goal was not met. So now she would like to plan a special get away trip for the two of them.
“My time with Hector has been beneficial physically and psychologically,” Marino says. “Keeping him in condition requires me to get up, get out, play ball, take walks, and make periodic trips in the car for his special burger treats."
“The two of us have checked off a lot of milestones off my bucket list. When I do feel ill, he is the first to make me smile. He knows when to stay by my side and just be there, & when to push me or make me laugh.”
Loren has been daunted by Bullying, politics and harrassment from other competitors due to her numerous wins and success in the ring.
Loren has had to hire a lawyer to fight these poor sported competitors, in doing so Loren had to tap into the already budgeted money for her trip to Crufts with Hector, and ultimately they missed the trip.
Please help them make a special get away possible to have fun and forget all that is looming on the horizon.
