After Orlando Living Art Project
Birthdays are usually rather selfish occasions. We get to think of ourselves, our goals, and be celebrated for just living. However, since the events that unfolded at The Pulse Nightclub in June I have had a different thought on how to celebrate my Birthday, and I need your help to do it...
Only a month after the shooting, a group of playwrights went on to create a series of short plays titled After Orlando which has gone on to raise funds for groups like The One Orlando Fund, The LGBT Center of Orlando, and more.
I would like your help to bring this production to Norfolk, VA in order to raise money and launch of a new project...Orange Avenue.
The Orange Avenue Project will collect interviews from family members of the lost, survivors, first responders and medica personelle in order to build an innovative, living, and evolving theatre piece. The project will research and workshop these interviews over the course of a year with a final production to be done in May of 2018.
The project will take more time, resources, and effort than anything I've done before...but before it can begin there must be funds; and After Orlando is the project to do just that.
