On May 1st, 2015 I Armando Flores suffered a severe car accident resulting in a incomplete T11 & T12 spinal cord injury leaving me paraplegic. Report investigation state my vehicle flipped about 10x in which I was ejected from the windshield airborne and was found 30 minutes after the accident happened by a lake and my vehicle submerged in water by drivers passing through the mess left behind on the road and unconscious, I don't remember it all but I do remember the voices of people then waking up at Tampa General Hospital where I was treated and underwent a life threatening surgery lasting nearly 5hrs from what my Nero surgeon explained to me. The impact of my fall cause bones to chatter all the way thru damaging nerves so in replacement to those bones they implanted two rods and eight screws. I was discharged in mid June after spending 45 days in there rehabilitation center were I was taught how to readjust to my new lifestyle. I had continuous rehab and physical therapy for strength and balance in Winter Heaven but after research and a few calls my wife and I found the ideal place for my specific injury recovery and not to far from home at STAY & STEP SPINAL CORD INJURY RECOVERY CENTER in Tampa; a family owned facility with a military background and a big passion to help others in these type of injuries after Mrs Gloria's husband was severely injured in war are now making dreams come true! After visiting and touring the facility my family and I fell in love, we've found hope again but unfortunately insurance doesn't pay for this kind of "non-traditional therapy" so we decided to raise this fund in which 100% of all donations will go towards this center for my treatment cost. This is very important for me because I want to be able to show my kids that anything can be accomplished if you have faith and just like they motivate me daily to get up I want to one day be able to get out this chair and enjoy the small things in life once again so we ask for your help.
