Lori Moore was so many things to so many people.  She was an amazing mother, a caring daughter, a loving sister, a dear, dear friend to so many, an outstanding coworker, and a beautiful asset to this world that was taken way too soon.  It didn't matter if you knew her for 20 years or 10 minutes, she would have you laughing and loving life, just the way she did.  She was smart and ambitious and wanted the absolute best for her kids.

She often would talk highly of her son, Kaydin, whom she referred to as "the boy," and would tell stories of his intelligence, wit, and how he would amaze her every single day.  She adored Callie's high-spirited personality and the fact that she seemed wise beyond her years.  Her kids meant everything to her.

In all of our sadness and grief, we want to give to Kaydin and Callie, who have just tragically lost both of their parents.  Let's come together as a community and open our hearts to this family, so we can provide some sense of comfort during this unimaginably hard time.

Dear Friends and Family,

I just want to thank everyone for all the support shown for Lori's children. It is very much appreciated, and we know Lori is proud at all the funds that have been raised.

I want to personally invite you to a very special event this Saturday at Perdue's Grill in Tremont, IL. This is a family-friendly benefit including three live bands, food, drinks, and tons of fun! There will be raffle prizes, a 50/50 drawing, auctions (with very cool stuff I might add), and Legacy for Lori t-shirts. There will also be activities for the kids like face painting, balloon animals, and a bouncy house (weather permitting)!

All of the money raised will go to directly to her children.

If you are able to come this weekend, we would be very happy to see you! Come out and celebrate the lives of Lori Moore and Lance Griffel as we raise support for her two young children.

Where: Perdue's Grill, 201 Sampson St., Tremont, IL
When: Saturday, October 11 from 3PM to 11PM

Tomorrow will mark one month since the loss of our friends, Lori and Lance. The first check from this amazing fundraiser was issued to the kids, and they should be receiving it any day now. While no amount of money can ever replace their wonderful mother, I am confident that the strong network of support that surrounds them will guide and watch over them. THANK YOU to everyone that contributed or shared with others or sent prayers and thoughts towards the families in this time of need.

Also, there is a benefit for the kids being planned in October...I will let everyone know once a date and time have been secured. The benefit will take place at Purdue's Grill in Tremont.

It warms my heart to see all of the recent donations. I can only assume it is from the release of the new issue of People magazine, which tells me people from all over the country are reaching out to help support these kids! Thank you for reminding me one of the reasons I love this great country. In the face of tragedy, Americans help each other rebound and continue to prove that there is way more good being done in this world than bad. THANK YOU!!!

This past weekend was hard. We said goodbye to two special people that were loved dearly by so many people. I wanted to take a few moments to thank everyone for their donations and continued support efforts. The amount of caring that has been shown will never be forgotten. Lance and Lori will never be forgotten.

We will be leaving this fundraising site up for at least a few more weeks. I have been notified that People Magazine will be releasing another online article about the tragedy tomorrow. This will include the link to the fundraising site. People Magazine will also have a printed article in this week's issue of the actual magazine about Lori and Lance. Let's pray that some good can come out of this horribly sad situation.

Please continue to share this fundraiser with people you know...every little bit is going to help support these kids. Thanks! http://funds.gofundme.com/index.php?route=fundmanager#

I would first like to start by saying I feel such grief for these children. I was fortunate to be able To leave my abuser and come out the other side with my kids and my life. So many are not that fortunate and I am grateful EVERYDAY that I have another day with them... If only "we" could of seen it coming.... theres ALWAYS going to be the "what if's" but let please dont allow them consume you and your time here in this world, we only get ONE life so live it to the fullest and BE HAPPY!! God bless XO to those precious children whom I'm sure are being well taken care of...

I didn't know Lori but wish I had. The demons of cancer has taken many of my loved ones away. Richard Henderson went home to Jesus 6/11 after a short painful battle with pancreas caner. Because of him and his wife, Michele, I have been attending Church every Sunday for 2-1/2 years and healed from addiction. Praying for Lori's family and friends. God Bless though our savoir Jesus.

Lori and I worked together on the on-highway truck group at Caterpillar. She was smart, professional and a joy to work with - everyone loved her. I just heard about this tragedy...I'm simply devastated by this loss to the world.
