Adult educators and their students in the path of Hurricane Harvey need help! Some staff and many students have lost everything to the flood. I know adult educators in California and all over the country want to help. Your donation will go to the Houston Center for Literacy. They support and advocate for many literacy organizations in the Houston area, and they are out there visiting the programs and helping wherever they can. Here is a photo of Madelyn Kennedy who is an Americorps Member and tutor at HCL, The home where she lives with her two sisters, a neice, a cat and a dog was flooded, and the water in the street in front of their house was over her head. I am a long-time adult educator in Sacramento, California, currently doing some work with Texas adult education.  My Texas colleagues helped me get connected with the Houston Center for Literacy (HCL). HCL has so far provided stipends to 7 staff and learners who lost everything when their homes were flooded.
