Adam's Quick-Recovery Fund

Our brother Adam was the victim of a hit and run and he needs your help.

On the night of 11/21, Adam was struck by a car that fled the scene. He was riding his bike in the bicycle lane, through Chicago on his way home from a volunteer gig, with his head and tail lights flashing and plenty of reflectors. His helmet saved his life. The EMT's found him alone, confused, and bleeding at a bus stop.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he'd spend almost a week in the ICU.  Adam had a fractured spine, a concussion, memory loss, and a damaged vertebral artery, along with bruises and bloody abrasions all over his body. Spinal surgeons were able to fuse the vertabra in his neck together, and thank goodness there is no spinal chord damage.  But the damaged artery left him with a serious risk of stroke. On Thanksgiving night, after being released from the hospital to the loving care of his girlfriend, April... Adam suffered a stroke.

We are so grateful that Adam will be able to function on his own, with no lasting effects from his serious injuries. However, he has a very long road to recovery. Adam is  is unable to work for at least 6-8 weeks, and the medical bills are already mounting. Donated money will go towards Adam's enormous medical costs,  living expenses and potential legal costs.

While Adam recovers from his physical injuries, we can help him recover from the financial injury caused by this horrible accident. Please consider making a contribution; any amount will help.
Thank you all so, so much!
