Adam Higgins

Adam Higgins was hit by a motorcycle whilst crossing the road in London a little over 3 months ago. The bike was speeding when it hit Adam, throwing Adam across the road where he landed hard on his head.  Adam sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury, leaving him with severe brain damage. He underwent 2 operations on the day of the accident on his head. He has since had to have further operations due to complications with his brain, swelling, fluid and a bleed on the brain. He has a shunt in place now that will stay there for the rest of his life. He was in a coma for 2 weeks and although awake now, he isn't making much progress. He is awaiting a space to become available at a rehabilitation centre, where he will be for approximately 9 months.  Adam's injuries are life changing for him, his wife and 2 children.  

Adam was a very hard working man who was devoted to his family and friends. He was honest, loyal and very caring.  He was always there for anyone that needed him.  

His wife is travelling to London every day to visit him, encourage him and attend to his physio needs. 

Adam may never be able to return to his career, he won't be able to work for the foreseeable future. This fundraising is to hopefully help with travels expenses, adaptations that will need to take place to his home when he returns home and any other expenses that such a devastating accident will incur.  Adam will need to have ground floor living with wheelchair access and possibly hoists when he returns home.
