On June 29, an unexpected accident sent a truck crashing into our cafe’s bathroom, causing heavy structural damage to the building. Thankfully, we were closed at the time and no one was inside, and all the drivers involved were okay. The entire restroom was destroyed, and the impact left us facing significant repairs. We’re already in contact with a contractor and working hard to get things fixed as soon as possible, but we’re still waiting to hear from insurance companies and need to cover immediate costs to keep moving forward. Our cafe has been a part of this community for 10 years, weathering many storms and always finding a way to keep going. Every day, I strive to keep fresh baked bread made and delicious fresh coffee brewed for our friends, family, and daily visitors. It’s heartbreaking to have to turn away customers and explain that a truck crashed into our building, but we’re determined to reopen—starting with our drive-thru while repairs are underway. We’ve set up a porta potty for now and are doing everything we can to get back to serving our community. Funds raised through this campaign will help cover repairs that insurance may not fully cover, as well as support us during this uncertain time. We are overwhelmed by the kind messages and encouragement we’ve received, and we’re so grateful for every bit of help.
