My name is Catherine Johnson and I'm a medical herbalist and first aider.

I am raising money to deliver both herbal medicine and traditional medicine/first aid  to refugees in Calais and Dunkirk.

The money will be used to buy medicines, herbal medicines as well as buy general first aid supplies which are in high demand, and to fund the cost of travel and accommodation for the medical staff involved. .

I am part of a larger group of herbalists, doctors, nurses, medics and first aiders working to supply herbal and traditional medicines to the many thousands of refugees and unaccompanied children at the Jungle camp, Calais.

Herbal medicines are not only an effective and safe treatment for those in need, they are also often more culturally acceptable.

I want to do all that I can for the thousands of refugees in need, just a few miles from the UK. I would be so grateful if you could give as much as you can to help me in this project.

As you may be aware, with the closing of the main camp in Calais, refugees have been dispersed throughout France to reception centres. Some of these reception centres are great, some are extremely poor, all are now filled to capacity and turning people away.

Many refugees have been forced to leave the centres, and along with hundreds of new people fleeing terror each week, are now living on the streets of France in sub zero temperatures, with little or no aid.

Along with other paramedics, nurses and doctors, herbalists are returning to France to deliver aid and medical treatment on the streets, to the makeshift camps, to the men, women and children displaced and vulnerable. Please join with us to bring help and comfort to people who have lost so much and ask for so little.

£200 has already gone to put credit onto the phones of vulnerable young people so they can stay safe, stay connected with friends/family and call for help and be contacted during the relocation. Thank you wonderful people x

As many of you may have heard, the French government are to forcibly relocate the refugees from the Jungle Camp Calais in aprox 2 weeks time. At present, no plan is in place for the welfare or safety of over 1000 unaccompanied children. Each of the children is being given a phone and credit so we can try to keep in touch with them, as last time this happened over 100 children were lost, never to be seen or heard of again.
I am heading back to calais 16th October to provide medical / first aid support during this very difficult and tense time. Things have become quite unbearable for everyone involved and police brutality is at an all time high, with a 9 year old child being shot in the head and paralysed with a rubber bullet last week. If you feel able and would like to contribute financially to either providing medical care or phone credit for a vulnerable child, please use my link and let me know how you want your money to directly benefit another human being in crisis.

We have now spent 5 weeks in total at the jungle camp. In this time we have treated probably a thousand people. Many young children who have lost both parents to war and terrorism. Some with foot problems from walking thousands of miles in shoes that do t fit. Some with serious illnesses such as malaria, TB, some who have been sexually abused and exploited along the way. We also have had several babies born, they and their mums have been provided with basic maternity care, baby clothes and newborn packs.

Every day there are people who have serious illnesses, both physical and mental, people with injuries from police brutality, war and victims of torture - the first place they turn is to us. So many have turned their backs to them, please help us to be present, be helpful, be equipped.

Inside my little caravan, the other two are a bit bigger, but we manage just fine in here :)
