Atlantic City Skate Plaza addition

$13,487 of $11,500 goal

We are raising money to add a large skateboarding obstacle to an already established skateboard area on soverign avenue in Atlantic City. It was built by the local skaters for the city two years ago. The city is giving us permission to relocate a big batting cage that they have in the middle of the court. That will be the location where we want to put a big obstacle with two pyramid corners, 2 euro gaps. 2 hubbas, and a bank to ledge all in one obstacle. It will mimmick one that Jesse Clayton already built at whitehall skate park in philadelphia. Jesse Clayton who builds skateparks for a living has confirmed he is volunteering his time to build this for the community of Atlantic City.
The funds will make this a legitmet park. Currently it is still more of a D.I.Y park this addition will infuse proffesionally built obstacles with what already exisists.
ATlantic City is suffering economically, spiritually, culturally, and recreationally. We want to promote and creat all of these things with this park by holding events but mainlyby providing an everyday community and culture of recreation, mindfulness, and peacefullness.

Hello,
I would like to thank everyone for their patience this process has been a long one and not by my choice. Every step of the way I have been hit with resistance but I didn’t let it discourage me and I pushed it all through with the help of many. We have Finally Raised all the money need from the park with your help and the help of the Hard rock Casino and the Jingoli Family.
We are currently waiting on the finalized designs from the architect and builder and then we are having a final meeting with the mayor and city council to finalize the park. We should have a build date scheduled with in the next 2-4 weeks tops.
The hardest part is now over the fund raising with out your Contributions this would have never happen. You helped prove the city and the casinos that this is something the community wants and now it is something we are FINALLY going to get. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for skateboarding in Atlantic City. I love y’all and thank you again. Stay tuned for more updates

Much Love,
Jason Klotz

We have a new Mayor in Atlantic City and he's for skateboarding and our skate plaza aka @backsov . @frankmgilliamformayor came to me after the park I built for the city was torn down by the Ex-Mayor and he was furious he told me that he would help me make this a reality no matter what. I want to personally thank @frankmgilliamformayor for everything he has done and is doing to help make this skateplaza a reality for Atlantic City. This will be Atlantic City's first ever skateboard park. please click the link at www.gofundme.com/acbacksov. In addition to what was raised we need to raise about 8,000$ more. Anything you can spare would help us paint a new picture for the future of Atlantic City and the many children raised on this island @5thpocketskateparks will be here in march as long as we raise all the funds asap. #Skateboarding #Diy #Fundraiser #GiveBack #GrowAC #WhyNOTAC #SkateAC #LetsDoThis #atlanticcity #thrashermag #thrasher #skateboarding #gofundme #MyHome #HomeSweetHome #Donate

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to say thank you to to everyone for your consistent support and concern about the Atlantic City Skate plaza. Currently we have a couple simple, safe, and fun obstacles there for the kids of the city to use. We are however getting all the paper work and procedures in order to get the real skate plaza project started. Im hoping it will be done before 2018 and from what its looking like it will be. Either way I want you to know as a Life Long Local of this here Absecon island I know how important this park is for the city. Its part of my life mission/legacy to make sure the future generations will not be neglected of their right to learn how to skateboard on this island and to congregate around the sport. With out recreational areas for the youth many are left abandoned and UN-motivated with no where to meet and call their own. My generation suffered from that very issue. The teenage version of myself still exists in my soul and wants this place to exist for all the kids who need something positive to do with their energy. Dozens of my childhood friends replaced skateboarding (since we had no where to go) with partying since its so accessible in the city. This Absecon island is filled with casinos, 24/7 poisoning pit stops aka "Bars" , drug block after drug block, strip clubs, and drug stores for pills on almost very block. This skatepark is so necessary to provide a counter culture lifestyle and activity in a city filled with so many DEgenerative activities. I hope this park will REgenerate energy and life. I know GOD will and is helping us get everything done for this park in good and fast time so we can proceed with the growing of a new culture of regeneration, longevity, and health here in Atlantic City of Absecon Island. I love you all and please keep the faith!

Sincerely
- J.Klotz
