You never appreciate what you have in front of you until your life is turned upside down!! My sweet 15 month old little girl named Abigayle, swallowed a battery Wednesday July 18 while in care of her dad! Which I don't blame because it could have happened to me as well!! We took her to Hendricks ER on the north side of town and they made us sit in the ER waiting room for a hour! So nana got up and rushed her to the south side ER where they got us straight back! Once they saw her Xray they immediately called Teddy Bear Air and care flighted her to CookChildrens hospital in fort worth ! At the time they thought it was just a coin of some sort! Mama and Nana rushed to fort worth as soon as we got packed! That's the worse feeling is not being with your baby when you know there is something terribly wrong!! As we were on the highway down I received a phone call from the Dr in fort worth and he said he thought It was the battery and we needed to get it out immediately! My heart dropped when he told me that!! We made it to Fort Worth at about 3AM and they did her surgery at 430AM. They battery lodged in her espohugus and where it was it burned her espohugus pretty good! She cant eat or drink anything until she heals completely! They placed a feeding tube in her nose and are talking about having to place a Gbutton in as well!! As you may know Fort Worth is two hours away from where we live and I have three other babies home in abilene! Driving back and forth is alot of money ! I'm not looking handouts by any means but its tuff being up here in fort worth! Any donations and prayers are very appreciated! I just want my energetic and sweet baby to get well soon!!
