Stranded Teen Trying To Get Home

A young man that spent five years in a boot camp for troubled youth being tortured is in need of some immediate assistance. He's only 19, and has been institutionalized for such a long time, he really has no clue about how the world works. His parents disowned him as soon as he turned 18 and left RYA, so he's done all he could with what he had to survive. Couch surfing is no way to live. He left Missouri with nothing more than a backpack and a promise that there was a job waiting for him in Oregon making great money. However, when he got there, he realized that there was no place to lay his head much less a job. It's been in the low 30s at night and he's been sleeping in someone's car that he barely knows. Thankfully, they've been nice enough to feed him ramen noodles at least to satisfy his hunger pangs. Since he literally has no one who gives a rats ass if he's dead or alive besides the former Captain of Prichard Police Dept. and myself, I've been trying to get assistance for him to get back to Mobile, so we can help him get on his feet and the counseling he truly needs. Unfortunately, due to the fact that neither Capt. Or myself are his "legal guardian," a lot of places will not assist him to come to us. Other places take weeks of not longer to go through their intake process. I'm not quite sure why someone who is the age of majority needs a legal guardian, but I digress. I've reached out to every organization I knew, asked for referrals to others and made contact with them. I've spent countless hours since I learned of his predicament Monday morning with no luck. Since charities that are supposed to help those in need are blinded by their "rules and regulations." I decided to start a gofundme acct., with the hopes that some of my friends would come together and donate just a little to this cause. I don't make that much money being disabled; I won't get paid again until the first anyway. He's sleeping in a freezing cold car with no food. That's a hard pill to swallow as I lay in my comfy bed in a well heated room and a full stomach. I don't usually reach out like this, but this time, I really need you guys to help me out. Monday the cost of a ticket from Portland, OR to Mobile, with my military discount was $257.30 out the door. I have a goal for $300 just in case the ticket is a little more, but anything over what the ticket cost, I would send to him via western union so he had a little pocket money during his three day adventure across the  country. Please help you guys... Think if that was you, or even worse, your child having to go through that. He's not on drugs, he's not an alcoholic, he's simply a kid who was dealt a crappy hand at life and he's doing the best he can right now.
