Help me rebuild my small business and save my family from the horrors of war The ongoing war that has been going on for ten months have had a profound impact on my life and my small business that I established five years ago. The lives with my family, my 9-year-old son Ahmed, father and my mother are at great risk. I am still worried about my son Ahmed who was injured by shrapnel in the neck in November when the Israeli army bombed a house next to ours in Khan Younis camp in the southern Gaza Strip. Metal shrapnel flew through the windows of our house and penetrated my son’s neck while he was playing with his cousins. His health has deteriorated since then until today, where it has improved slightly, but he needs constant and permanent care, according to what the doctors told me.. I am Wafaa Ahmed Al-Hajj, 32 years old, specializing in primary education and a teacher in one of the kindergartens in Khan Yunis. I am divorced and have been living with my young son Ahmed in my father’s house for five years. I started my small project, which I called “Joury Store,” since my divorce because my husband abandoned me and did not respond to the many appeals, I established this project to support myself and my child after the divorce. I took responsibility for that, and my father could not do anything about it because he is sick and does not work and has no source of income. I was forced to start my small project, which began to develop and flourish, which is preparing handicrafts and gifts for weddings, happy and religious occasions. I used to make it by hand, and then I received funding from one of the local associations concerned with financing small projects in 2021 to be able to buy an automatic printer to help me provide orders and reduce the physical effort I do. Then I opened a small store in my father’s house, which I rented for an amount of money in exchange for working in it. My circumstances developed and improved, this small project was my ultimate dream that I was striving to achieve and thank God, I achieved it with all passion and love.. The dream was not completed On October 7, 2023, the Israeli war of extermination began on the Gaza Strip, which killed more than 40,000 innocent Palestinian civilians from my people. This war was like ending my dream and the dream of tens of thousands of Palestinians whose dreams ended and their future was lost. The Israeli army bombed my father's house, which contained my store that I established and built step by step and which cost me a lot... The store was destroyed and became leveled to the ground, a pile of rubble that folds under it a beautiful history and rosy dreams that motivated me to progress and succeed, but now it has become a trace that I remember every day when I sleep on the pillow.. We have been displaced to a small tent to the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis since that date, the day our house was bombed, March 23, 2024, . The Mawasi area is a coastal area, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. We suffer from the intense, scorching heat, insects, and famine. My child, father, and I have been afflicted with many chronic and skin diseases caused by natural factors and displacement in this exposed area. We search for any opportunity that will save us and keep us from going hungry. Why your support is important to me and will make a big difference. Why your support is important to me and will make a big difference I have decided to re-establish my project again in our small tent and among the tents of the displaced, to create a source of income for me and my family, who are exhausted by displacement and war, and to provide food, drink and medicine. I have decided to return again, I will try to bring joy and smiles to people's faces here in this bloody war, I will return to make decorations, paper crafts and models that used to amaze the minds of their users with the quality and beauty of those items, I confirm that I am in dire need of your intervention and support to re-establish my small project. Therefore, I am contacting you to ask for your help in financing the basic costs of re-establishing my project, which cost me more than 30 thousand US dollars, and to support my only child Ahmed and my elderly parents Ahmed and Shafa and to cover our living expenses and medical care for my child Ahmed as well.. Your contribution represents more than just financial assistance; it is a testimony of compassion and a direct lifeline for our family during these difficult times.. Our families have known displacement well. Growing up in the refugee camps of Khan Younis, we have endured the hardships of losing loved ones again, the despair of losing contact, the routine fear of losing someone overnight – these fears are our reality. How Donations Will Help Every donation is a beacon of hope. It will directly fund my small business that was destroyed Israel during the war on Gaza and which with your kind support I will be re-establishing and running. I will allocate a portion of those donations to cover the medical expenses of my son Ahmed and to cover temporary expenses for providing food and drink as we are now a family without an income. Your support provides a temporary safe haven for our family as the cost of living here in Gaza rises and your support becomes more important. It is about giving them the foundation to rebuild our lives, to move from survival to living, and ultimately to contribute to society as we strive to do. Your support is more than financial; it is a lifeline.
