Help Aaron keep up the fight!

Background
On the 31st of January 2015, my best-friend Aaron was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This meant that while his friends and peers were graduating from completing 6 years of secondary school, attending the Debs, applying for different Universities and generally getting on with their normal 18 year old lives, Aaron was in a hospital being pumped full of chemicals and being poked and prodded by doctors and nurses.

His Fight
The fact he was unable to graduate from school with his friends and classmates was understandably pretty devestating to Aaron. Yet, despite the challenges he faced, Aaron re-enrolled into the school to repeat his final year after being given the go ahead by doctors but unfortunately the cancer came back and after attending a few days of school again, he had to leave for good. This crushed his dream of attending a University to study Engineering and also resulted in him completely losing sight in his left eye permanently.

Despite these setbacks, Aaron never lost hope that he would get over this illness and continue his treatment with the support of his friends and family. The cancer showed signs of going again and this allowed Aaron to be able to be considered for a Bone Marrow Transplant which had the potential to  really reduce the impact the cancer was having on his body. Yet, sadly at the last minute the donor of the bone marrow pulled out and shortly after that Aaron's cancer regressed again.

Current Situation
Aaron's cancer is back and tragically he is running out of options. In December 2015, a time which should have been one filled with joy and celebration, Aaron was given an ultimatum by doctors. He could either A) Stop treatment and accept his fate or B) Continue treatment with an extreme type of chemo that has a 10% success rate but could make Aaron bed bound and very ill.

If you haven't already noticed by now, Aaron is a fighter and despite the great odds stacked against him and a possibility that he could die in hospital, he has chosen to take the extreme treatment and continue his fight.

This is where you come in
In an effort to try maximise his chances of survival and to increase any time he has to beat this illness, Aaron aims to go to the Hippocrates Health Institute  and undergo a complete detox program which will aid his body in fighting back the cancer and coping with the chemotherapy. Sadly this program is only available in Florida and as much as myself, his friends and family wish we could fund the trip ourselves, we simply cannot financially afford it.

All the money from this campaign will go directly to the cost of the course, flights, transport etc.  The course starts in April so that gives us 2 months roughly to try raise around 10,000 euro. It won't be easy but we can do it. If Aaron can have gotten though all of the above then we can surely raise the money for him.

Personal Note
Its almost clichéd that whenever a person gets sick or passes, they are always referred to in a really positive way no matter how horrid they may have been throughout their life and sometimes that can feel kind of forced. However, I can easily say Aaron is one of the nicest, kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing let alone the privilege to call a friend.  The way he has tackled his sickness head on and not given in, is frankly inspirational and he has really shown me the importance of fighting for things we believe in which is partly the reason I made this; I believe in Aaron and I believe he can come through this.

Even if you only have a euro to spare, each euro is one step closer to Florida and a further step to letting Aaron fully live and embrace the life he was given. If you don't have any money to spare then just sharing, tweeting, emailing, texting etc. this page would be amazingly helpful and potentially go a long way in his fight for life.

In the end of the day that's what this campaign really comes down to, a fight for life. An 18 year old lad from Ireland fighting to lead a normal life with his girlfriend who has been by his side every step of the way. For Aaron to have fought all this way only to be stopped by money issues would be cruel and tragic beyond words. So I hope you donate and even if you can't please please share this page around to your friends, family or even strangers you don't even know! The more word spreads, the greater chance Aaron has of getting to Florida and potentially overcoming his Leukemia.

A heartfelt thanks from myself, Aaron, aarons friends and his family to everyone who donates and contributes to Aarons future.
